We were seated outside and it wasn’t too chilly with the wind barrier sheets and the overhead heaters. They have an accessible toilet if you use a wheelchair as well as a baby-changing table in the women’s toilet. They can get quite busy on the weekends so it’s best to book a table in advance. It is a menu designed for sharing. They were able to cater for Coeliacs, our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu. She said that the Fried Chicken is not Coeliac-friendly because it is cooked in the same fryer, but that the fries were safe because they were cooked in a different fryer. She also said she would make sure to tell the chef so they could take extra care. We ordered the Fries, Seared Beef, Pork Belly, Pavlova, and Vegan Tart. The fries were thick and crispy without being overly greasy, I would’ve liked a bit more aioli. The seared beef was lovely and tender and paired well with the ginger cream. The pork belly was juicy and tasty. The pavlova was nice and crisp and went well with the softer elements. The vegan tart tasted like most vegan tarts by itself, but it paired beautifully with the chocolate mousse on the side, which added a richness of flavour and creaminess. Thanks to Atticus Finch for delicious and gluten-free options, and First Table for the discount!

For the second night in Rotorua we had grabbed a reservation at Atticus Finch downtown. They are a tapas restaurant they didn't disappoint. Going into the meal we questioned if it was going to be enough as well as sharing plates with four people sometimes can be a little challenging. We didn't have a single problem here. Our group of four all ordered a small dish per person of what grabbed their attention as well as a larger dish that we shared as well. This was definitely enough food and so many great flavors. The price was a little bit high but after the meal we were not upset about the bill as everyone got enough food and we were all able to try so many different dishes. I would highly recommend ordering one of everything on the menu. Our only slight disappointments came in the form of the deserts. Otherwise we all had different favorites for a multitude of different flavors. Atticus Finch was a great way to sample a different take on NZ flavors Follow this link for more information on the Restaurant and to book your table. I would highly recommend reservations during peak times as this place will fill up fast.

Love the idea of share plates. This was the first place that I experienced share plates, and it was overall a pleasant experience. The greatest con was the price for the quantity which was a little steep. Spice rubbed lamb rump; lamb was very soft and chewy, taste was infused lightly but nevertheless delicious. The tapenade a lovely touch, with an interesting texture (reminiscent of mince)-I was expecting mince. Chargrilled peppered beef sirloin; asked to be made medium rare, and it was prepped very nicely, a great assortment of sauces and vegetables. Too bad the portion was the smallest out of the bunch yet the price was the steepest! The beef was soft and the vegetables not over cooked and well marinated with sauce. I just really didn't have enough to eat. Roti pulled pork summer slaw; the dish in which I had the highest expectations but was the most disappointed. The pulled pork had flavor but the meat itself was dry and a bit tough. The summer slaw was a bummer, nothing special about the slaw and I really did not want to be served rice at a European dining, and the vegetables on the side were very average. Asian fusion? Not a direction this restaurant should take. Fresh fish pan fried; lastly added this one on since we were still hungry. I hadn't had high expectations but this really was the star of the show! The fish was delicious as was everything paired with it! The fish was soft and filled with moisture, tasted fresh and flavorful. The salad was also equally as delicious, the caper salsa and lemon flavors meshed so well together, paired with the bean and topped with almond, it was glorious! I loved it so much I even tried recreating the flavors and texture at home (with some lentils, spinach, and almonds).

Service was really great, dining area was dimmed and although it's not private - it felt like they set it up to be a little more intimate so you could focus on the people you were with. My partner and I were having a silly convo, joking around (which probably sounded serious haha) and the waitress chose to give us time to chat which was nice. Although we were mucking around, it was date night and nice not to be interrupted while we were engaged talking. Really happy with the food, they put some interesting dishes together and it was great to have such variety. We got four side/share plates and one main and that was a good amount. We went for the brussel sprouts with bacon, broccollini, fried chicken, Halloumi with roast vege salad and the beef. Main was pork belly (pics attached) Enjoyed them all. Food was fresh and flavours went well together. Only thing I would have changed was the roast vege salad - it was very chilled as if it had just come out of a fridge, so not as enjoyable as it might have been. Still yum though! *like if this review is helpful so I know what to include in future :)

I dont get the hype around Atticus Finch, I Frequently travel to rotorua and decided to finally try this restaurant with my family after the trip advisor reviews and ratings, But its so average..... The portions are large enough for one person, i wouldn't call them share plates, they are actually just mains. The prices are ridiculous for the quality of food you get, Its sub par food for extravagant prices, the only good thing about this restaurant is the location, its close to the lake and city center. I would call this a tourist trap as the reviews are very deceiving. I recommend going to capers which is nearby and the prices are actually decent, i would even say some of the things at capers are higher quality and better tasting than the dishes here. Overall dont come here unless you got a deep wallet and you want to sit with all the tourists and travelers who dont know any better options. It is of the better restaurants on eat street though but most of them are over priced and sub par tourist traps.

The customer service was lovely but that's about all I can compliment this restaurant on. I was extremely excited to go to Atticus Finch after not been able to get a seat two weeks ago. We ordered an old fashioned lemonade and a Mr Cummingham... both were well below our expectations (the old fashioned lemonade tasted like watery lemon and the Mr Cummingham tasted so strong of bourbon and nothing else) Although disappointed we were still excited for our food.... sadly this was another disappointment.... the Spice Rubbed Seared Beef was nice at times and so tough I had to swallow it whole at times... The Pork Belly was clearly so overcooked it was grey... I was able to cut through the crackle easier than the pork.... I won't even get started on the confusion of the salad that came with it.... but do not put cinnamon with Kumara.... you just end up with a dessert tasting salad. Unfortunately won't be back again
