Poor customer service. Not allergy friendly.
Picked this place due to the appearance it is sensitive to allergies and gluten sensitivities. I am traveling from out of town and had to search what was around. I have allergies to some foods and I currently have a medical issue and by doctor recommendation can only eat bland soft foods. I searched everywhere for a place that served bircher or oatmeal and saw they had bircher on the menu. When I read the bircher on the menu it just listed toasted nuts. It didn't say which ones. I am allergic to walnut so I asked at the counter. She looked annoyed that I even asked despite telling her it was an allergy. She came back and told me they were out of bircher.
I had to pick something else quickly. Smoothies were listed on the menu above but they were no ingredients listed for those. I asked her if there is a menu with those. She said no and said she couldn't remember what was in them. She rushed me to make a decision by saying she needs to get to next customers.
I just settled on something quickly that wasn't that good for me because I felt hurried.
Later they were not friendly when asking for a takeaway box and ignored us for a while. Avoiding eye contact at the counter. Would not go here if you want friendliness or your food sensitivity...
Read moreFirst impressions are always important in a cafe, feeling welcomed and cozy in said cafe is part of the experience. As soon as I stepped into the door the atmosphere and “energy” was vibrant, homey and most importantly welcoming. I was in a group but I don’t want to write a novel describing everyone’s food, so I will just go into detail with mine. I ordered the beautiful honey toasted cinnamon bagel. The food we ordered all came out at the same time at a responsible pace. As soon as it came out we realised the presentation was absolutely amazing. The care put into every dish is stunning, my photos do not do it justice. That first bite may have been the best thing I have ever eaten, somehow a single bite had multiple sweetnesses all waiting for there turn. First very sweet, then all most savoury, then sweet with the raspberries and finally back to the good ol’ taste of a perfectly cooked bagel. I was very impressed with that feat of food engineering and culinary arts. The rest was just as good with the contrasting flavours and textures. Overall I highly enjoyed the entire experience. The only thing I can complain about was that our server seemed to be quite frankly a bit board and uninterested, but they didn’t really have any effect on the overall atmosphere of our Mother’s...
Read moreNice cafe to dine in, but quite pricey.
I visited this cafe on a Monday with my family members for brunch. Despite being a weekday, the cafe was surprisingly busy. It was nice to see a variety of menu, some with their own twists.
We ordered few breakfast menus - waffles, egg’s benedict with pork, and big breakfast. I would like to try egg’s benedict with perhaps bacon or salmon. Pork was a bit too much for me. Plus, when there’s no greens to go with it, the whole dish felt a bit greasy. It was a new menu for me hence why we ordered it.
Big breakfast is as you would expect. Each ingedient was well cooked and again found the dish didn’t have much greens. But otherwise, it was satisfactory.
Waffles were nice and simple, sweet and jammy.
The staff were very nice and attentive. We were surprised to get our dishes just after 10 minutes! That was a very pleasant surprise.
Coffees were nice but may have been better in cups with handles. Having a latte in a casual glass might be hot for some to hold.
The store is worth looking around. It has some interesting items.
Overall, it was worth a visit. Food portion for the price could have been a bit better. But if you are around in town, this place would be one of few...
