BakeShack — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

When I awoke on Monday the 11th of July 2022, little did I know the out of body experience that would await me at 1:03pm later that day.

I entered BakeShack, eager to try their wide range of delicious pies. I reached for the Lamb and Curry. The perfect golden crust.

As I entered my vehicle in the car park, suspense was unbearable. I tore open the paper bag and sunk my teeth into the delicious exterior. My eyes glazed over, flavour filled my cheeks. The perfect balance of texture, sweetness, savoury with just a little kick at the end. The lamb tender and juicy.

While many would say I helped backshack that day by purchasing their pie….. in reality they helped me, they helped me discover the best pie in the country, and quite possibly the world.

Be aware these people are making up their own rules. I was asked for a vaccine pass while buying a takeaway coffee this morning. I told the person serving me that I wasn't eating in or sitting down so I didn't need to show a vaccine pass. I was told I would have to wait outside while the coffee was being made. I was wearing a mask the whole time while in the shop. Absolutely stupid so called rule as I took longer choosing what I wanted to buy and paying for it, funny how I wasn't asked to wait outside while they took my money from me. The customer behind me wasn't even wearing a mask and was never even asked by the cashier. I complained to the so called manager Bev but she could hardly string a sentence together let alone answer...

As a food tour guide it is always a pleasure to bring our local and international guest to Bakeshack for a fabulous Tradies Morning Tea experience. For over six years you folks have provided superb pies, custard squares, cream donuts and smiling happy faces when we walk through the front doors.
