Can’t poach an egg and waitress had a disgusting attitude.

Ordered the mushrooms and asked for two poached eggs instead of a single fried egg (ie add an extra egg). Meal arrived with one poached egg, said one was missing, and the waitress’ response was “you didn’t pay for an extra egg”. To which I replied that I definitely asked for two eggs and that wasn’t my fault that I hadn’t been charged, to which the waitress responded “ok fine I’ll get you another egg” in a way that was dripping with attitude. When the second egg turned up (along with a fried egg that wasn’t ordered) the waitress said that the eftpos machine was down but it would be $6. Annoyed at this point I said I wasn’t paying $6 for their mistake after we have already paid $84, to which the waitress said “I don’t have to put up with your attitude, it’s disgusting and walked off”. Turns out she was the manager.

Absolutely shocking behaviour, I had to make sure we weren’t at Karen’s by mistake! Never have I experienced such an attitude from hospitality staff. And the first egg was...

Look this is coming from a person that exclusively writes reviews when I’m impressed and expectations have been exceeded. This is also coming from someone who worked in restaurants and cafes throughout college and uni. Whoever owns this business needs to have a serious chat with their staff about attitude. Today is Monday 23rd December, and I just paid $6.50 for 3/4 of a cup of an average large flat white. As if it isn’t bad enough spending a dollar more than most places and receiving a crap coffee. I also had to overhear the staff complaining about having to serve “all the Aucklanders” Now I’m SORRY if serving us is such an inconvenience, and I have to say in the 4 or 5 times I have come in to your business for the simple pleasure of a coffee, I have always left there thinking “I am never going there again” and it’s usually because of the terrible energy your staff give off. The times I have come to Henry and teds is basically due to lack of choice in the area, but don’t worry, I will be sure to go out of my way to avoid your business...
