Nestled conveniently across from Coastal Vets, Henry & Teds is a delightful café that not only welcomes dogs but also offers great coffee and delicious food. From the moment you step in, it's evident that the chef has a deep love for food and goes above and beyond to ensure that guests have an enjoyable dining experience.
The café provides ample space, both indoors and outdoors, making it a comfortable spot for patrons to enjoy their meals. However, be aware that it tends to get busy during peak hours due to its popularity. It's worth planning accordingly or being prepared for a potential wait.
If you find yourself needing a pick-me-up after a night of revelry, I highly recommend ordering the "Beast" at Henry & Teds. This hearty breakfast option is a real crowd-pleaser. It includes a Kransky sausage, streaky bacon, and portobello mushrooms, offering a combination of rich flavors and satisfying textures. And if you're a fan of hollandaise sauce, don't hesitate to request some extra on the side to complement your hash brown. The attention to detail and quality ingredients elevate this dish to the next level.
In summary, Henry & Teds is a top-notch café that caters to both coffee enthusiasts and food lovers. The dog-friendly policy adds to its charm, and the chef's evident passion for food shines through in every bite. With its spacious interior and outdoor seating, it's important to keep in mind that it can get busy during peak hours. However, the dining experience, especially when indulging in the impressive "Beast" breakfast, is definitely worth it. Henry & Teds is a great choice for a delicious meal that will leave you satisfied...

Ordered the mushrooms and asked for two poached eggs instead of a single fried egg (ie add an extra egg). Meal arrived with one poached egg, said one was missing, and the waitressâ response was âyou didnât pay for an extra eggâ. To which I replied that I definitely asked for two eggs and that wasnât my fault that I hadnât been charged, to which the waitress responded âok fine Iâll get you another eggâ in a way that was dripping with attitude. When the second egg turned up (along with a fried egg that wasnât ordered) the waitress said that the eftpos machine was down but it would be $6. Annoyed at this point I said I wasnât paying $6 for their mistake after we have already paid $84, to which the waitress said âI donât have to put up with your attitude, itâs disgusting and walked offâ. Turns out she was the manager.
Absolutely shocking behaviour, I had to make sure we werenât at Karenâs by mistake! Never have I experienced such an attitude from hospitality staff. And the first egg was...
Read moreLook this is coming from a person that exclusively writes reviews when Iâm impressed and expectations have been exceeded. This is also coming from someone who worked in restaurants and cafes throughout college and uni. Whoever owns this business needs to have a serious chat with their staff about attitude. Today is Monday 23rd December, and I just paid $6.50 for 3/4 of a cup of an average large flat white. As if it isnât bad enough spending a dollar more than most places and receiving a crap coffee. I also had to overhear the staff complaining about having to serve âall the Aucklandersâ Now Iâm SORRY if serving us is such an inconvenience, and I have to say in the 4 or 5 times I have come in to your business for the simple pleasure of a coffee, I have always left there thinking âI am never going there againâ and itâs usually because of the terrible energy your staff give off. The times I have come to Henry and teds is basically due to lack of choice in the area, but donât worry, I will be sure to go out of my way to avoid your business...
