Hello sushi(Papamoa-Excelsa Centre) — Restaurant in North Island

wife wanted Ramen so duly ordered on line as they were not answering the phone . It kept ringing engaged suggesting they took it off the hook ?? 3pm Sunday afternoon- received email saying order accepted ready for pick up at 3.30pm duly arrived at 3.32 and waited at the counter until somebody bothered to come out the kitchen. explained i had ordered online and was here to pick up my order. Guy messed around with his ipad for a couple of minutes before asking me what i had ordered !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i told him my order and said it should be ready. Straight off the bat I can say it is a lovely place to eat, atmosphere are decor are very nice, modern and nature filled space.

Although the sushi was a huge disappointment, my partner spent around $50 for pure disappointment with taste, presentation and very high price for not much food, or even good food.

In the photos you can see how messy the sushi was cut, and just rice covering the bottom of the sushi pieces. Chicken was dry and avocado was just a puree, mushy avocado.

We have had 3 experiences here, last nite we placed a phone order, again everything has been fresh & hot. Really happy they have chosen to open in papamoa, Thank-you for giving us a new option. We will absolutely remain going to this eatery & recommending it. What is really unfortunate thou, is two of the bad reviews(food poisoning) on here are from the manager & staff of Great Spice restaurant across the road.
