Robert Harris — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

I never usually leave a review about places but my visit to this cafe left my husband and I seriously unimpressed with the service and feeling ripped off! Firstly the cafe was quiet, it was in the afternoon so it was not busy however the lady who served us seemed like she was rushing and getting very flustered while taking our order. My husband ordered our coffees to which she bluntly replied to him in a rude manner asking him to repeat the order, then accused him of saying something he didn’t say and then telling him that that was what she heard. She was snappy and honestly so rude and for no reason. We also ordered a pasta to takeaway (a small size). This same older lady prepared my portion of salad and had another worker hand it to us. We left the cafe and hopped in the car and to my shock opened the small box to find literally a scoop of pasta in the package. We paid $7 for this! The box was literally 3/4 empty. I don’t know if this is their standard small portion size but honestly I was disgusted. I know there is a cost of living crisis but to rip a customer off like that is beyond a joke!! I have to say that older lady working there needs some serious training in both customer service and giving people what they pay for. As someone who grew up here in this town I really expected A LOT better and I will definitely be taking my money elsewhere...

Came here for breakfast with the family to celebrate mother's day with my mum. We made our order and later on found out they mucked it up. We order 1 pasta and 2 cakes whch it was part of our order. Instead they gave us 2 pastas which we politely asked did you charge us 2 the waitress straight up said no. Later we asked about the cakes which she said we didn't order, so we requested for the receipt and found out they did indeed charge us extra $12 for the other pasta and later got someone else to refund which we weren't impressed she should've checked first before assuming.

What was even more infuriating is that we found a strand of hair stuck inside our cake half-way through and took it in to ask for a refund. First the waitress (an older lady named 'Julie' assumed is the manager) apologised and said what else we wanted and we just said we wanted a refund for that cake no fuss. Suddenly she turned around to check the cake and rudely said it was fibre. I told her hair or fibre (it was in fact hair) it is NOT acceptable to be found inside of any food. She was super aggressive and wanted to start an argument, my family and I were really appalled with her attitude and service. We are locals that come here every now and then. I visited the cafe this morning. Completely shocked with the spinach filo was just too salty all i can only taste salt purely and strongly it was too much salt.every single bite was like I am taking spoon full of salt every bite.so went to the counter and complaint and instead got scorn with out charge.whick is ok Also lady was very apologies but it's not her fault.Anyways.

Robert Harris this is! Very poor experience foodwise I have been to so many Robert Harris cafes and coffee clubs and so many more this is the 1st time have experienced such a silly little basic thing in food is over addition of salt!
