Shamiana — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

My mouth starts to water as I approach SHAMIANA, at the Bayfair Shopping Centre, foodcourt. I believe, this franchised branch of Shamiana should be first on your list, if you are looking for authentic Indian food. The colour and aroma of the spices used are so appealing that your mouth starts to water. From samosas "which are to die for", that are served with a tamarind sauce, to freshly baked naan bread cooked in a tandoor and served to you piping hot, with a choice of curries from different parts of India. Very generous portions and pleasant staff, are a bonus to their already exceptional food. If you haven't been to Shamiana, Bayfair, Mt. Maunganui , you will be missing a taste sensation. Had a chicken korma, but the cuts of the meat could not have been cheaper and more disgusting. It included various tubes and vessels and a whole lot of fat and even some crunchy parts, made eating it really off-putting to even eat the rice and sauce. If I wanted some average to decent tasting sauce, I'd pour some pataks over some rice and get a much less off-putting experience.

The combo is any curry, rice , Naan plain, and one drink for $17 My partner got the vindaloo very hot and a lot of coriander. Me a goat curry but because I am gluten free they gave me papadom who is really nice from them, grateful for that. But the curries miss flavour and texture, are liquid and still need improvement on...
