The Slovakian owner seemed stressed when I arrived and he popped out around the corner of the display cabinet. I ordered the tomato soup and asked if it came with ciabatta bread? He said they could give me ciabatta instead of toast.
To my surprise I paid $12 for tinned Watties tomato soup, that I could have had at home! Really disappointing.
There was a huge amount of staff on - 5 and they had 2 patrons. I struck up conversation with two of the younger staff when I heard how the male staff member was stressed and doubting his ability to cook there as he was a home cook. The girl who was cooking said out loud, "You like cooking and I hate cooking, and I can do it, so you'll be fine'. 😳
Was very amateurish and I should have gone further down the road where I am now to Ten27, where they have experienced talented chefs, and freshly made Winter vegetable soup.
Will not go back. Just reconfirmed to me why I never eat at Eastgate Mall. Save your money for a real cafe, run by...
Read moreTheir smoothies are just milkshakes and the guy at the till has pretty bad customer service skills. He looked quite annoyed that I stopped him from reading something ok his phone and when I told him that a drink made of strawberry milk and ice cream is more of a milkshake than a smoothie, he asked me "What do you want me to do?!" Idk mate, to name your menu items correctly? or be polite at least?
Edit: Well that reply just confirms the lack of manners and insufferable attitude, with a hint of xenophobia. Don't register on Google maps if you can't handle honest reviews gracefully. If you bothered to read more carefully you would have seen that I leave reviews to businesses I like too. My English is absolutely fine and I bet you came up with that pathetic excuse when you saw my name in the review. You absolutely said it was strawberry milk and you did say "What do you want me to do?" rather...
Read moreFriendly staff, fully stocked cabinet, clear menus, reasonable pricing... had the mega breakfast. Was Filling but not everything was super tasty, didn't even bother with the unappealing onions and mushrooms. Sausages were yum though, and the Bacon was freaking great! and they did cater to request re eggs (after my initial asking mind you) which were yum with the toast, but I like lots of salt and sauce on my chips (bland) and the Tiny 1 sachet of each is nowhere near enough (unlike the bottle you get at Denny's) shake's a real disappointment too (especially with a Wendy's-type place on the other side of the food court) but Will probably be back to try one of the gourmet burgers at only $12 and because the staff are wonderful; which actually goes to show that a great experience with staff can overcome a disappointment...
