Hapsun Souvlaki — Restaurant in Christchurch

My family might be spoilt having experienced real Turkish kebab shops in Australia and other parts of NZ, but this place is pretty terrible. Asked for 'No spice' on the kids one, they added tomato and Chilli sauce (which they just called Tomato). Beef in my one was cooked beyond oblivion and tough as old leather boots. Salad choices are non-existent (ONLY lettuce). Sauce choices are almost as limited as the salad choices, Tzatziki was bland as anything, think it was lucky if it even had youghurt in it. Sauces they did have were thrown in without checking what was wanted. Should have taken the hint and high-tailed it out of there when I noticed Bollywood music playing in a Middle...

Ordered a shawarma which is my favorite middle eastern food in the world.

There were no gherkins present, not toasted, no garlic sauce, only a whole lot of lettuce. I pretty much got a chicken lettuce soft wrap.

Very disappointed with my latest order. I purchased 2 deluxe souvlaki. Asked for 'No spice', one chicken and one Lamb. The result: both souvlaki were impossible to eat as they were very spicy. The Lamb souvlaki had very thinly sliced pieces which were burned and crunchy. And the amount of Lamb was twice smaller than amount of chicken. But the amount of salad was over the top! Pre-covid, Hapsun souvlaki was a place to go. Sadly, not...
