Most of the time they do a pretty good job, so I won't complain too much. However, today I had a lot of trouble with them getting my order correct. I asked for extra cheese and they never put it on the screen. Then they asked me if my order was correct. I said no and told them what wasn't correct and asked to get it added to my mcmuffin (a second girl was at the window who hadn't taken my order at the drive thru originally) and she genuinely asked me "what muffin?"... I feel like that is a lack of common sense, how can you ask a customer "what muffin?" after they've ordered one that is clearly on the screen that you just asked me if it was correct or not. Then she didn't add my onions and pickles to the mcmuffin (no idea if you can, or not, but they never said anything to tell me that you can't, so they have no excuse) on the screen, so I asked again and they ushered me along without confirming the pickles and onions, which I had asked for 3 different times at this point... then I checked before I left and, lo and behold, what is missing from my mcmuffin? Pickles and onions obviously. I don't get it - why are you bothering to ask if my meal is correct if you have no intention of listening to my request? I said the order 3 times and the clearest response I got was you asking me "what muffin?"... that is not good customer service. You shouldn't hire people if they are so slow that they have to ask a customer "what muffin" and have no idea what's going on. Furthermore, I shouldn't have to ask for the same thing 3 times and still not get it....
Read moreDecided to go to McDonalds as a treat after my daughter's concert; waited at the counter, only to discover that you are no longer greeted by a friendly human face but are expected to place your order through a self-service kiosk. After entering the order, the machine decided it didn't want to complete the order. Stood at the counter for a few minutes watching staff joke around out the back, ignoring me. By the time the young woman came to the counter I was, admittedly, pretty annoyed. I explained what had happened and she asked if I would like to place the order through another kiosk. I gave a firm 'no', commenting that I prefer to talk to people than machines. The 'manager' must have heard my displeasure and asked if there was anything he could help with. Again, a firm 'no'. from me. Luckily (after a long night, the pre-Xmas blues and a growing headache) I remembered the 4 seperate orders, because there wasn't a menu at the counter to order from (clearly, this McDonald's does not want to employ humans or be bothered with that pesky thing called 'customer service'). O.K., yes, I know it's McDonalds and that you shouldn't expect much, but I do expect a little customer service when I make a transaction. I also expect that companies who make billions from their customers pay something back by employing human staff - particularly in areas that could do with the jobs. This was perhaps the most dehumanising of fast-food outlets (yes, I get the irony) that I have visited, and I certainly won't be visiting...
Read moreI’ve just been the drive through at this McDonald’s. I ordered and had such a nice experience with the first three people. The eftpos machine was having some trouble and they needed to reset after I had paid for my first order, which is completely fine. It came back online and I paid for the second one and had to sign for the order. Everything was fine until I got to the food window.
A girl passed through the first order and a lady in the back screamed through the kitchen at her that I hadn’t paid. She ran to the window to drag the food away and ask for me to pay again. I said was fine if I hadn’t and I’d be fine to pay for the food I came to get. The pulled the receipt down and held it in front of her face and talked loudly behind it about how this is the only receipt she had. I mentioned I paid and signed a receipt at the window before and asked to see it. She yelled that it wasn’t possible and I have to pay and drive around again. I asked to speak to the lady before and that wasn’t possible either.
It’s the first time I’ve ever experienced this at a McDonald’s and I was so surprised to have been greeted by such aggression by what looks to be a...
