Edit: I switched my review for 2023 from 3 to 5 stars. Theyâve certainly improved on their quality but wait time still to be desired. But overall happy with the burgers this time round.
Checked out ReBurger's facebook page and the photos looked good and the menu had a lot of options. Best thing I found was that the beef and chicken is halal so I was excited to try it out.
Me and my flatmates ordered through an app which I found bizarre and had no way of seeing the menu on their website to decide before hand. Prices seemed fair.
Unfortunately we had to wait a lot longer than expected and ended up waiting for an hour rather than the alloted 30 minutes. Picked it up and we got a chance to see the inside which looked cool with neon lights and a dark atmosphere but; the only downside was the space so its hard to find a seat if you plan to eat in store.
I ordered the great king burger which had caramelised onions. The beef patty was dry and tough. The onions were bitter and almost tasted burnt. Fries were ok and not too greasy. Overall my experience was mediocre as a first time customer. Glad to try them out but will probably not...
Read moreWe were loyal customers since the day you had only 1 shop in Dunedin. In our opinion you were New Zealand's best burger place. We enjoyed your burgers and loaded fries. We were there when you increased your menu. We even were there when you opened your second shop in Mosgiel. Once we moved to Christchurch, we were absolutely amazed to find a ReBurger there. Your burgers were amazing and so tasty. However, in the last year your taste and your service has gone downhill. First you decreased your menu (the typical excuse: COVID) which we could have lived with. But the taste of the burgers also disappeared and became really dry. The beef patties suddenly tasted of nothing and the vegie burger was overloaded with coriander (please warn customers of this! Personally, I HATE coriander!). Instead of hashbrowns, we suddenly had fries in the burger. If you are running out of ingredients, inform your clients and offer an alternative. Do not just simply make a...
Read moreWhen they first opened in CHCH they were a standout, not the very best burgers around but closer to that end of the spectrum than anything else near their price range.
Recommend chicken over beef, their chicken really is top notch, beef is just decent. The rotation of special burgers is cool although some really deserve a full time slot IMO. Tuesday deal with burger, fries and can of drink is pretty good value.
Recent changes have dropped them down a bit in my books including large price increases on certain items such as onion rings which went from 5.50 to 9.50 (!?), their delicious fried caulli bites (although maybe they aren't on the menu anymore?), and also a change from shoestring fries to thicker ones. It definitely feels like the overall quantity of fry is smaller now too, and the boxes don't seem to be as heavy as before. Definitely preferred the older fries over the new ones mainly because you got more fries even if each fry...
