I had dinner at Supa Panda last night, and unfortunately, my experience left me quite disappointed. This was my third visit to the restaurant, and while the first two times were excellent with friendly service from the male owner and delicious food. My friend and I arrived and were ready to order, but despite signaling the waitress, she blatantly ignored us. Instead, she chose to serve other customers who had just entered the restaurant to pick up takeout orders. It was clear she had seen us, but for some reason, we were overlooked. This delay left us waiting far longer than necessary to place our order. When we finally ordered, we specifically asked for different levels of spiciness in our soup noodles and soup rice noodles—some spicy, some not. When the food arrived, everything was spicy. We politely mentioned the mix-up, but the waitress dismissed our request, stating that it was the "regular flavor," with no intention of correcting the issue. What really upset us was the difference in how she treated us compared to other customers. We are Chinese, and it was hard not to notice the preferential treatment given to others, which felt uncomfortably like discrimination. The waitress's rude and dismissive attitude contrasted sharply with the warm hospitality we'd experienced on previous visits from the male owner. I hope Supa Panda addresses this, as no one should feel unwelcome or...
Read moreHave ordered take aways from this restaraunt three times in the last year. Haven't dined in - but same menu so can't imagine it being much superior.
The first visit - low quality - poor tasting. The second - not bad, thought it was slightly sub par to your average Chinese restaraunt but the prices weren't too extravagant. The third - refer to the first visit.
The prices seem okay - but when you get the food and discover it's either salty, watery, tasteless or otherwise - you find money would be best spent else where.
So here is my warning to those in Halswell for asian take aways. Shop else where or be prepared to spin the roulette wheel where the biggest payout is an...
Read moreFrankly don’t recommend. Portion sizes are ridiculously expensive and they don’t even give you enough for the meal (had to cook my own rice just to have enough for the meal )
The kung pao chicken flavour is good but the broccoli is under cooked and can’t really tell you if it even has chicken, I barely see 6 pieces in the whole meal.
The fried chicken is ok, nothing crazy for $12.
Aside from the broccoli the food tastes fine, but there’s far better Asian restaurants in Christchurch for quality and cost.
One of the most disappointing food experiences I’ve had.
This place feels like it’s gone down hill. I remember it being better not sure...
