Incredibly disappointed. I'm not sure if we just went on an incredibly understaffed night, if the reviews are fake or if it's recently had a change in management causing the reviews to no longer reflect the actual quality. I was so hyped to go here from seeing the reviews, now I'm questioning if the reviews are even legitimate. First of all, booked online, specified highchair in the requirements, listed 4 adults and specified in the notes on children that it was 4 adults plus one toddler. Arrived to find a table set to 4 people, no highchair, no room for a high chair, not even the colouring pencils and paper they have on the front desk to keep children entertained while waiting for food. My partner goes up and asks for some colouring things and a high chair for the child. Staff come back with the high chair and comment that there isn't really room for it since the table next to us has people there and it might block someone from sitting down. We told them just to place the chair down, they pointed it away from the table, so we had to pull it out of the very narrow spacing to then put it back in around the right way as it doesn't have a tray. The service was incredibly slow, I had to ask twice for a side plate for the mains so my daughter could share some (no kids menu) and we had to flag people down for ordering and drinks. Food came out at a suitable pace, but the quality was incredibly disappointing. They also had sold out of potato skins at 630 on a Tuesday? It's not like the place was fully booked.. The pizza was sloppy, the fries were cooked but only just, no crispy to it. The food all round just seemed to lack a bit of flavour and felt very rushed. Cabonara was okay. We even heard the people at the table next to us commenting on how disappointing all the food was. Then when we went to go pay, they tried to charge us for an extra drink we never ordered or consumed.. And argued that they had noted it down so we must have ordered it. The one chef that was waiting on tables was lovely and super polite, the rest of the staff manners were either rude or acted like they couldn't care less. We didn't even get an option of a deserts menu? Such a disappointing experience. The music was okay, table layout a bit cramped, especially since they knew we needed a high chair.. Maybe it was just a fluke, maybe just that night was bad, but I certainly wouldn't pay those prices to risk it being...
Read moreThis Italian restaurant exceeded all expectations, delivering a culinary experience that left us utterly impressed. From the moment we stepped through the door, every aspect of our visit, from the food to the service and ambiance, was flawless.
We embarked on a culinary journey that showcased the restaurant's expertise and commitment to quality. Our order included a tantalizing array of dishes: flatbread, arancini balls, veggie pizza, veggie risotto, and rigatoni pasta. Each bite was a revelation, with flavors that danced on our palates and left us craving more. The pizza boasted fresh ingredients and a delectable sauce that elevated every slice. The pasta dishes were expertly prepared, with creamy sauces that enveloped each noodle in indulgent richness. The risotto was a standout, perfectly cooked to a creamy consistency that showcased a harmonious blend of flavors.
For dessert, we indulged in pistachio gelato and panna cotta, both of which were sublime. However, the true highlight of the meal was the potato skins—an unexpected delight that surpassed all expectations. From their creamy texture to the perfectly balanced spices, every bite was a symphony of flavors.
In summary, this restaurant sets the bar high for Italian cuisine, delivering impeccable dishes that delight the senses and leave a lasting impression. Whether you're a seasoned food enthusiast or simply seeking an unforgettable dining experience, this establishment is not...
Read moreWe went to Amore for my wifes birthday, searching for an Italian restaurant to call our new favorite. Our last favorite was Venuti where the food was great. We were seated promptly enough and the wait staff were pleasant. It was really quite busy I thought for a Sunday evening but we were seated out of sight. This made it difficult to attract the attention of the wait staff and we eventually had to go to the bar to get someone. The pizza was not to our liking, the edge of the base was crispy, and it had bubbles but it still seemed stodgy. Perhaps the pizzas are made up ahead of time and then cooked. This means that the sauce and other wet ingredients of the topping "soak" into the base and can make it stodgy even when the edge is crisp. My lasagna was a just typical rendition of what I might make at home. I didn't find any pizzaz or any outstanding flavors to carry me away to Italy. The tiramisu was generous enough that sharing it between the both of us was welcome. It too though did not have any flavor highlights that we could recognize. I should mention that my wife has Italian heritage and is used to the family style restaurants found in ...
