an unreserved, full blooded enthusiastic recommendation. great service, wonderful ambience and even better food. 1. lamb platter for 2 @$50. This is massive. the photo doesn't do it justice. wide selection of greens, roast pumpkin, full rich and thick gravy....but goodness me, the lamb! Falling off the bone, rich and flavorsome! so so very tasty. 2. Seafood Chowder. slightly piquant. lovely chunks of soft fish. it was awesome 3. Baby Back Ribs. a classic favourite of the teenager. she enthused about them and the one I had was render and had that true Texas flavour. 4. kids nuggets....standard kids fare, with yummy wedges. thoughtful touch to have colouring and crayons all ready to go. kids were welcome and wouldn't hesitate to bring them back 5. white bait omelette...didn't get to try, but dad certainly enjoyed. if you go between 4 and 6 on weekdays there's a specials menu that's well worth exploring. it did mean the joint was packed when we arrived then got progressively quieter. loved the fully enclosed patio area with a large gas log fire. this would have been really nice place to sit had it not been reserved for a group of 20. our waitress was AWESOME...friendly and proactive and totally wonderful. I only gave a small amount of feedback, and it's not fair really because drinking Mac's is no hardship (3rd world problems and all that) but I'm not a fan of Speights or Lion so would like to have seen some other options on tap. incredible place....I WILL be back.

So as far as the bar goes absolutely fantastic they guy behind the war is fantastic super friendly and happy to accommodate. The restaurant side complete disappointed. We reserved a table for 2, we did not get a drinks order taken we did not receive water, we ordered our food which our entree came out very quick we were impressed and even said to the server "wow that was quick!" He then responded with "yeah we want to to hurry and get all the orders now" which was fine except the we got the wontons which were hot on the outside but cold in the middle, another 20mins or so later which is good time our mains came out and was just a complete let down. I think this place has the potential to be amazing but obviously we went there on a night when the kitchen just could not be bothered. So restaurant I would rate a 2 and the bar a 5 the bar was absolutely fantastic!

Good food, good portions and good prices. Best to book a table if going Friday or Saturday night. The steak was tasty and perfectly cooked. Beef Wellington has 2 mushrooms in it so they're easily removed if you're not keen on them. The lamb shank pie is huge and looks delicious. Other options include salmon and pork. There is a bar menu of chicken wings, chips and the like. Dessert options include Apple pie, roulade or cheesecake for $11 the best option is to to go for the combo at $16 where you get 3 desserts for that price its much better value. There is wheelchair accessible entrance. Outdoor seating area. Welcoming fireplace. Sports matches on The big screen. The tavern has a gambling machine area.

To the management, My family and I have been a regular patron at your tavern for the last six or seven years and we have always spoken highly of the quality of your food, ambience and friendly staff service. However this afternoon we are very disappointed with everything. The food took 50 minutes to come after checking two times with what's happening with our order, once after 40 mins and then 5 mins later. Sadly to mention, the restaurant wasn't even busy, it appeared to be just under quarter full. We had 3 adults and 2 hungry children (aged 4 and 5 years). Surely it can't take almost an hour for the food to come! To make it more sympathetic, one staff had told us that it is normal to take about 25 minutes for the food to come out instead of trying to be helpful when we said that it's a long and that our 4 year old is getting very restless and hungry. When paying the bill at the till, the staff didn't even apologize for the delay and the food being not right. She didn't even repeat to make sure that we are paying for the right order. She just told me the total amount to pay. What an unpleasant experience today! We will now probably not come back again even though we have told friends that this is our favourite tavern to go to. ;( When the food finally came, we had 2 cold hash brown (add-on) with with our salmon egg benedict. My 'smashed avocado' and poached eggs on sour dough wasn't really 'real' avocado but tasted horrible kind of green pureed. We agreed for the staff to replace the hash brown so long as it doesn't take another 50 mins to do so. After that the staff didn't come back at all to ask how the...

First time visited but will be our "go to " place in future for family events. Everything was first class...seating, atmosphere, price, service and most importantly, really delicious meals. Highly recommend the Harewood Tavern. However, our 2nd visit last Thursday 27th June was rather disappointing. We had a booking for 6pm for nine family members to celebrate our youngest grandson's 21st Birthday. We were in sombre mood as our daughter, his mother, had died two weeks previously after treatment for a rare illness had failed, but we tried to make the most of the outing. The wait time for our meals seemed rather long and one meal arrived late as the original was served to another table. We were assured we would have that one for half price but nothing came of it. We left the tavern about 8.30pm after paying the tab presented. We had just arrived home when our son who had made the booking had a call from a staff member to say we had paid the wrong tab and he needed to return to pay our correct one. No apology for our inconvenience, just a flippant attitude from the staff member asking if we would like the wrong receipt or the right one. We decided at the point not to patronise the tavern again but it was confirmed next day when our son was phoned again to say our tab was still open which we interpreted as us having left without paying. Again no apology and no appreciation for our patronage. We...
