Sushi Plus — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

Delicious, fresh and surprisingly well priced sushi! Friendly staff. These guys know what they're doing. Purchased a 60 sushi roll piece share platter - only $55! 😮 (92c a piece! Decent size). Every other place was doing them at $1.50-$1.70 a piece. Gave them instructions 'no vegetarian, only 6 salmon pieces and not so many tuna pieces' and it was executed precisely. The platter (comes in a neat box with plastic windows in top) was made fresh, in its entirety, in about 20-25 mins. Came with a full plastic sauce container (you know the ones) full of spicy wasabi paste, another of shredded, pickled ginger and a mountain of the little soy sauce fishes (all more than we needed). We chose this as our meals while enduring a 24hr movie marathon and kept it chilled in chilly bin (with bag of ice in it). We never got sick of it, was always fresh and moist when we came back to it (chilled storage is important though folks!). If I need to feed a bunch of people some good food for relatively cheap, I now consider these platters from this shop one of my go-tos. This is a small shop, so I wouldn't go here for ambience, but I couldn't care less, if they sell me sushi like that at those prices! This is our favourite local sushi shop. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The sushi is affordable considering lots of places have gone up in prices yet retain its quality.

Their sushi is cost-effective, with portions much bigger than most other sushi takeaways, and the owner is very friendly.
