Yesterday, I ordered an iced oat milk latte at this cafe, with a lady attending to my order. She quoted a price of $7.50, and had already input the amount into the POS system, ready for me to pay. However, a man with glasses approached her, exchanged a few words, and she subsequently adjusted the price to $8.50. I found it a bit peculiar but didn’t challenge it as the cafe was bustling at the time, so I went ahead and paid. Later on, my curiosity piqued as I noticed that a previous order of a large hot oat milk latte was only $7.00, leading to a $1.50 discrepancy that I found baffling. I decided to reach out to the cafe for clarity and attempted to call them around 2 PM, but despite multiple calls, no one answered (their closing time is 2:30 PM). Consequently, I visited the cafe again today and inquired about the pricing. Upon triple-confirmation, a male staff member confirmed that the price of the iced oat milk latte should be $7.50, refunded the difference, and offered a possible explanation for the incorrect charge, which I appreciated. However, I am still left wondering why the price was revised yesterday after the lady had already keyed in $7.50 into the POS, especially following a brief dialogue with her bespectacled colleague. I really enjoy the flat white, matcha, and cold brew at Toasted, and I often grab cabinet food for lunch as well. Since I work nearby, I come here quite often.

However, lately I’ve felt very uncomfortable because of the woman at the front with yellow curly bangs. When customers order, she doesn’t listen until the end. Instead, she keeps interrupting in the middle of the order, telling me the total price right away, and then closing out the order without letting me finish. Because of this, I end up rushing through my order, making mistakes, and feeling unwelcome.

She comes across as unfriendly, and in the mornings I honestly don’t want to deal with her. Especially when ordering, if I don’t speak quickly enough, she gives off a very unpleasant attitude. Every time I try to add something to my order, she cuts me off as if I shouldn’t order more.

I pay for my coffee and food, and I just want to enjoy my morning here. But because of this staff member, I sometimes avoid coming altogether, which is really...

A different barista recently and the superb coffee track record was broken with a "so-so" coffee experience. If that barista is on duty next time we will choose a different hot drink or a mango smoothie to accompany the tasty food. A nice vibe greets you on entering and the staff are friendly and attentive. The date and orange scones with large pat of butter are my favourite. Mr Jay intends eating his way through the food cabinet and hasnt been disappointed yet!
