Lulu cafe — Restaurant in Kaipātiki

Took my parents for brunch to this lovely cafe, the decor and atmosphere is bright and inviting. The staff were warm and inviting.

But what's a cafe without coffee? I'm glad to report the coffee is amazing! Perfectly balanced and delicious, the aroma alone was enough to make me get a second one, a great start to the day!

On that day we tried many dishes off their menu, they were all very delicious and a lot of care was put into presentation which was beautiful.

The stand out dish was definitely the scampi pasta, the sauce was rich and full of flavour and the acidity from the tomatoes balanced it out which had us wanting more and more, my parents are usually fussy eaters but they managed to clean the plate.

The truffle creamy udon and fried chicken was also amazing and I would recommend getting those too!

Overall amazing food, coffee and atmosphere. Will definitely be a regular at this...

I visited this cafe with my friends for brunch. It's located conveniently near the motorway and other Korean stores, making it a highly recommended spot in Wairau Valley.

I ordered a flat white and their most popular dish, Scampi Pasta. My friends ordered the Burrata Salad and Matcha French Toast. Despite the prices being close to $30, I believe they offer excellent quality food. The Scampi Pasta was delicious. I ended up finishing every last bit, including the sauce. My friends also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We had a wonderful time together, and the staff were very kind.

The interior decoration of the cafe is modern, with bright colors in a yellow theme, giving it a youthful vibe.

This cafe appears to be quite popular, especially within the Korean community.

Quite disappointed. Drove past this bright adorable cafe many times with high expectations.

We arrived during lunch time peak so it was a bit busy, our food took a bit too long to arrive. I ordered the matcha french toast and first the portions were a bit small, for $25 you get one slice of bread and some tiny slices of fruit, for another $8 you can add 3 pieces of bacon. The fried chicken was underwhelming to say the least, again the portion was too small. The rest of what we ordered was just okay nothing special.

Overall I had lacklustre experience, although the cafe itself was very nice to look at, that was it I’m afraid. Slow service (to be fair it was slightly busy), small portions and mediocre taste. I will likely not be coming back...
