Atop the hill where traffic flows, A beacon for all those who know, The Wairau road, a busy stream, Leads to a fabric-lover's dream. A warehouse vast, with doors ajar, That beckons from a distance far. The sign, a sun in yellow bright, Invites you to its inner light. Within its walls, a world unfolds, Of stories that the cloth upholds. The bolts of cotton, side by side, In rainbow shades, a joyful tide. The needles gleam, a silver line, For every project, yours or mine. The buttons sit in jars so deep, Secrets that the buttons keep. Of jackets sewn, and shirts repaired, A silent promise, freely shared. The yarn displays, a woolen cloud, A whisper from the crafting crowd. The chunky wool, the mohair fine, A perfect skein, a soft design. For scarves to wrap around a neck, Or blankets to adorn a deck. The crochet hook, the knitting pin, Let a new creation now begin. But more than fabric, thread, and yarn, This store's a place to learn and earn. The crafting kits, a hopeful start, For every hopeful, eager heart. Read moreInitially had 4 stars from previous visits but after rude experience today I am dropping it to 1... Don't appreciate my 3 year old being shouted at by staff.. my son was bored and running around playing his blazing game, had been there for over an hour... he was nit playing or touching products... As one store person mentioned, you ladies are still here... anyways, if customers children are annoying staff, mention something to parents so we can handle the situation...my child has literally just been let out of Starship so was happy to see him cheerful while we were trying to decide on material matches for a new product range we are launching... Catheter and all it was great to see him happy... So shouting at him to stop running and even giving me a fright was rude and could have been handled more professionally... I will not be back at this store and clearly not a good environment for children. Staff were not very helpful either and I felt like we were an inconvenience... This all took place at downstairs...
Read moreI watched as 4 staff members stood behind the fabric counter while I waited at the counter for assistance as they busied themselves with online orders. When I was finally attended to I asked why none of the staff came to help or even looked up while I waited at the counter? Then when I went to pay, I watched as a customer dropped her items and left the store because there was just one staff member at the till and a line of customers. I feel the staff member who made the comment wasn't practising good customer service. I usually come here to buy my fabric so I feel the comment the senior staff made was unprofessional and quite...
