Clevedon Seafoods Takeaway & Bakery — Restaurant in Franklin

Best snapper in the South. Nice drive through the countryside to reach the quiet hamlet of Clevedon. Twenty dollars buys you two plates of snapper and chips. Wash it down with Bundaberg ginger beer. Lots of other seafood choices too. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Make sure to read the local Coffee News when you are there. Wander down to one of the local dairies and pick up an ice cream for dessert. Pop into the grog shop next door to the dairy to buy the best port wine from Clevedon Hills, Leighton's Port! Drive back through the picturesque North Road to Maraetai Beach for a swim in the sea or just soak up...

Reading the other reviews I am giving them 3 stars because they obviously do fish and chips well. The cakes and slices cabinets was the worst presented I've ever seen and I didn't fancy buying anything out of them. They slices were mis-shapen as was was the solitary chocolate cake. On the plus side they served my tea in a mug, the way I like it. The location is great and they have plenty off covered seating: perfect as it is day of heavy Auckland rain. It's too early for dinner otherwise I would try the fish and chips. I am sure they would meet the standard described by everyone else but the bakery side use...

(Street parking only) We had just walked Duder Regional & stopped in for kai on the way back on a Sat morn. Very happy with it all. Ordered Tarakihi, small chips & a couple mussels. Fish was falling apart! And so golden!! Service was by kids of the owners maybe & they were so polite. Repeated order back clearly etc. We were going to takeaway as the few tables were occupied, by the time the food was cooked, tables were empty. So it was nice to sit. A lovely place!!!
