Mugs & Muffins Cafe — Restaurant in Franklin

Hi , I live in Constable rd and frequent Nicks Cafe' as often as I can. There must be some really fussy or "weird" people out there if they find fault with this café. Nick and Mayu are AMAZING hosts , always smiling and always interacting with the children and caring for all within their café. The food is OUTSTANDING and it is always served as promptly as the crowd within the Café allows ( and there are some pretty huge crowds some days) . Nicks amazing personality is noted by all who visit there . We are not just customers , we are friends to Nick and Mayu and you cannot help but feel welcomed and comfortable in this café. His staff work bloody hard and I have never had reason to find fault with Nick or Mayu OR THEIR STAFF. I often see Nick or Mayu with their little boy around the town and they are " exactly " the same, friendly, courteous and just bloody lovely people. We should be proud we have such people in Waiuku. Keep it up Nick - you guys do a really FANTASTIC ...

First time here with my parents :). Wicked food! Being british, Fry ups is what we love! Especially after a night of drinking :p. Though being slighty biased. The younger lad with his cap backward acknowledged I wanted fried eggs on my big breakfast but I was served poached eggs :(. Still kick ass Though, and I asked for a single shot long black in a tulip cup and was given an Americano. Coffee fanatics will understand the frustration there lol. But Nick. Man that guy is a legend. I've never met him before but he was so nice warming and a wicked guy to my little baby girl! He had the right toys and the food was prepared very sensibly for a baby! Saved me having to chop and peel everything. I will defo be back :)! Thank you for a great time....

When I lived in Waiuku 6 years ago, I used to come here, when Nick owned it, and the food was always Devine. Visited the other day and feel that the cafe has gone downhill. Have to say I did not have a cooked meal so cannot give an opinion on that, the lady chef seemed to be doing a good job at the cooker and what I briefly saw on other people's plates looked reasonably good. I had a coffee and a slice. The coffee was okay, I had to ask for the slice,as it had been forgotten. It wasn't fresh and it was commercially made, not made on the premises per the past.
