I have travelled a great deal, and have sampled butter chicken at many other restaurants. Bollywood's butter chicken has always been the best, hands down. This is why I was so disappointed when I ordered take out last night.

Both my husband and I noticed that the sauce was VERY weak in flavour compared to normal. (tasted like a watered down version) The cheese and garlic in the naan was also sparse.

In the past, a friend of ours (as well as ourselves) had noticed that other cuts had been made (only a few scraps of chicken in the dish). The staff were good about it when we mentioned it - and since then there has been a fair portion.

My point is this - I can understand trying to be competitively priced with the competition - so I can understand making a cut somewhere. But guys, NEVER compromise the QUALITY of your food. People don't mind paying a little more for quality - as you have always been excellent. I don't want to go elsewhere, but I will if the quality doesn't...

I went here because this place has been giving away free kai on Sundays for those in need! (Not sure if they still do). So with that in mind I thought what a lovely place to go dine and spend our anniversary. The ambience was lovely and bright, we ordered a platter for two which was devine! I then ordered a fish curry which unfortunately was a big let down as the fish pieces was battered and then put in the sauce, and tasted bland. I was hoping for tasty filleted fish in a curry sauce. When I bought it to the waitresses attention she said she'd let the chef know, however I wasnt offered a replacement after waiting 20 minutes I had been forgotten about as the place filled. We were in town visiting for the first time while on our mini-moon and not knowing the area we Googled to have an Indian dinner delivered to our motel on Awapuni Road which we didn't think was far from everywhere. How wrong we were. Tamarind, just 3.1km away, wouldn't deliver because we weren't in their delivery area. So we ordered our dinner from Bollywood Stars who were delivering it faster than a fast thing. Seriously, we hadn't even finished unpacking and there was a knock on the door. Fast food to the maxx. And we weren't disappointed neither. We opted for medium heat on our mains and they arrived with just the right about of heat for both of us.
