Second review: 12th April, 2025 Tonight I decided to download the app so I could order online to make my wait time shorter. Wowza. I made the order at 19:00, app said it would be ready at 19:10. Turned up at 19:11 thinking they might be a little late. Didn't get my order (1 single burger) until 19:56! Had to wait for flippen ages. And I would have had to wait longer except I went up to the counter to enquire about it (I thought there might have been some sort of error even though I could see the order on the screen). It's not the workers; they were busy. They weren't standing around. But there's something seriously wrong with the systems or management of KFC Gisborne. It's unreasonably slow. I don't know if it was just extra busy and an odd night, so I'll give it one more go with the app. But I'm not waiting nearly an hour for my puny order of one burger again. If it happens again, I'll never use the app again but will put up with having to go through the drive through. At least it's more comfortable and less noisy.
(Below: review from 3 years ago) I only ever get the wicked wings (trying to reduce my carbs). While the food is good (4.5 stars) and the servers are friendly (5 stars), the service is sooooo incredibly slow through the drive thru.....every time. I'm not sure what is going wrong with their protocol, but someone needs to review it. Also, twice in a row recently, my order was wrong, and they to refund some money and redo my order. I'm actually sitting in the drive thru now waiting to see if they got it right this time....
Read moreMy partner let myself and our two moko off in the carpark this afternoon to get a feed to take home to Ruatorea at 1555 hrs on entering the store finding there were no customers at the time, or for the next 4 or 5 minutes,I waited while three (3) workers kept walking round and round the store two (2) of which swiped a card for whatever reason while I waited to be served, then when I attempted to get the attention of one of the workers she asked me to hold on and started a conversation with a second worker, discussed at the lack of attention from any of the three (3) workers doing nothing I walked out of the store fuming and cursing letting them know how I felt, with my 7 yr and 10 yr moko - I have never felt so humiliated in all my life by there non action for a paying client. I walked across the road to ZGas Gisborne and relayed my experience to my partner who was coming to pick us up. He then went in and spoke to Alex the franchise manager at precisely 8 minutes after 1600 hrs and getting an apology for the lack of service - with the manager saying she will look into it but did not even ask for our name or particulars to follow up our complaint to her, I have now left this complaint as our review. Read moreI ordered a lunch meal with a snack burger through drive through. Upon opening the wrapping, 2 fruit flies flew out. It had been on the lettuce, so I went in to get a replacement. When I explained to the lady working the till, she looked at me like I had made up the whole thing and asked where the "supposeded" fruit flies were and I explained that they flew out and didn't feel the need to catch them and bring them in with the burger. She gave me another burger, still shaking her head like I was a psychotic liar with problems, seeing imaginary fruit flies. I made a point of opening the new burger on the counter and inspected it carefully to see if another fruit fly would present itself. When 1 didn't, I thanked her then left.
