Cafe Fresca — Restaurant in Hamilton

Im not one to normally complain or leave a bad review but my experience with the handling of food today at your cafe was not acceptable. Ordered bacon and eggs and i received it with some of the egg white still raw, thats not the issue, when i went to the counter and polietley asked if i could have the eggs cooked a little more my plate was handed to the cook in the back, the lady picked up the egg with her bare hands place it in her palm and proceed to pick out the raw parts of the egg with her fingers then put it in the pan repeating the same process to the other egg.un aware i was watching the whole time. Please be hygenic and use cooking utensils to handle the food, putting a fried egg into the palm of your hand and picking out the raw egg surely isnt standard practace. Or atleast dont let the customer see it. Could have just put the eggs back in the pan with a cooking utensil. Please correct me wrong but is this how food is handled on a daily basis at your cafe? I wouldnt even do that myself at home with my own food There was also some awkward stares from staff at me when i asked for a refund, i felt i had done something wrong, so we left out the back as i felt very uncomfortable. As a newbie to Cafe Fresca and word and mouth follower. This idyllic and delightful hidden gem is a surprise to behold.

On this lovely auspicious midday trip, I decided to look for a place we could sit and have a nice brunch to celebrate a great start to our day before we headed home.

After visiting the health and wellness program at the Hamilton Gardens, and experienced a connection with a wide range of people and marvelled at the range of spiritual and healing benefits on offer. Came away with some new fond memories and gifts. Especially connecting with our spiritual journey.

Anyway, enter Cafe Fresca. Wow, open alfresco or indoor dining and...pet dogs can accompany owners outside while having a meal.

That's right, while having a delicious meal, other patrons were allowed to bring their pet dog's in with them.

Now, we didn't mind at all...it was the meals that attracted us and worth every penny but, for you animal lovers.

What a great way and special place to include another family member like your pet dog or dogs.

There were water bowls around the outdoor area if you needed to use them.

We ordered three meals and three drinks. The meals were the loaded fries ($20), and two plates of pancakes ($40).

Already this was a pretty pricey outing as in total we have paid over $80 taking into account our coffees, however we kept in mind that the meals will reflect their price.

We waited quite a bit for our meals, and our faces dropped when they finally arrived.

The loaded fries were soggy, bland and cold. The pancakes consisted of two pancakes, a jug of syrup and half a banana (not even sliced) on top. They were dry and dissapointing. For the price we have paid, this was a total rip off as we could have made the same meal at home for $5 in half the time it took to arrive to our table.

I asked a passing lady if we could just have two small ramekins of whipped cream for our pancakes and she happily agreed. Upon returning however she said that will be 80c each and asked if we would still like them. After already paying $80 this was ridiculous and we left the cafe feeling ripped off and let down.
