Staying at the motel was a dreadful experience from start to finish. Despite booking well in advance and specifically requesting a room without stairs and with adequate ventilation, I was given a room on the second level, which was noisy and stuffy. The room service was abysmal, with no effort made to maintain cleanliness throughout my month-long stay. When I asked for assistance with my heavy luggages, I was met with dismissiveness and told it was simply “good exercise" Parking was also a nightmare, as I was arbitrarily told to move my car from a seemingly available spot without any clear signage indicating its designated use. To add insult to injury, there was no hot water on my last day, and the staff’s response was indifferent at best. The entire experience left me feel frustrated and marginalised, as if my needs were not considered important simply because of the possibly due to racial bias. Definitely not a premier hotel for such an expensive price and service. Now I have a stiff neck and sore back due to heavy lifting of luggages from the second level to the...
Read moreI was in Hamilton from Utah. I travel frequently and usually stay at high-end full-service hotels when I travel. I’m very particular and don’t usually just drop into a roadside motel. I had no idea what to expect at first glance. I parked and walked in to enquire about a room and I was instantly impressed. The absolute cleanliness of this place is apparent just walking through the door. Everything is new, fresh and welcoming. The owners are great to communicate with and helpful in every way. I ended up staying a second night because the bed was so comfortable and I saw no reason to go anywhere else. The housekeeping staff and everyone I encountered was pleasant and cheerful. I love the idea of the laundry facility but there was a sign saying not to change the settings so using heat in the dryer wasn’t permitted. I ended up taking my wet clothes to a laundromat but they were done at the laundromat so quickly it was hardly an issue at all. I needed to stay in Hamilton to be close to family that was in Waikato Hospital so this location was ideal. I would...
Read moreWe booked a room at the BKs Hamilton Motel purely based on its location, walking distance from the Hospital. Ample parking, and very friendly team on Reception. Room was a 1 bedroom apartment located upstairs. Large King Bed in the lounge room, with 2 recliners and a large dining table. Small kitchenette with ample cutlery and cups etc. Bathroom was clean and tidy, however the tiles were LETHAL when wet. Small bedroom with two single beds and small TV. There was quite a bit of road noise, but not enough to be a huge drama. No Sky TV, just the basic free to view channels. Didnt really have a lot of toiletries in the bathroom, the ones provided were minuscule. The beds were a delight, with crisp clean linen.
At $280 for the night, we found it to be EXTREMELY overpriced for what we received. At least $100 overpriced. Shame, as the value for money is really the only major thing letting it down. Certainly wouldnt stay again at that price, but would if it was cheaper.
4 stars still, as the Staff were very friendly, Beds were amazing and...
