Peppermint Twist Ice Cream Parlour — Restaurant in Henderson-Massey

I was the original owner of this shop and built it from the ground up complete with the booth seating. Long hours and 7 days a week was hard work. I am so happy to read some of the comments especially the ones that bring back childhood memories for some. That warms my heart. It’s great the name never changed. I haven’t been back for a number of years but when I owned it, it was also a dessert bar. My original chocolate cake recipe with ice cream and chocolate sauce was a winner along with the Carmel dumplings and a great array of sundaes all named from old songs, just like the name of the shop. Wurlitzer jukebox provided great entertainment for young and old. Swensons were my ice cream supplier back then. So pleased it is still going strong after all these years. Would rate none if can. Local ice cream shop from my house in te atatu peninsula. Came with my 2 boys and second time being here and the male shop owner is grumpy, not welcoming or smiley . Needs to work on people skills and smile and greet customers cos that goes a long way. He was like this the first time we visited so it was not just an off day. Tried ordering the cake with ice cream to be told no cake. No payWave and the male shop keeper looked annoyed when I said I only had payWave. Sorry could have went and got my card or cash but didn't like his customer service. Please smile especially to kids who were excited to come have some ice cream and desert. Will not...

West Auckland is very lucky to have this place. It had become our regular place to go for an ice cream. The couple that run the place are very sweet and nice. The prices are very fair. A wide variety of flavours, and also a wide variety of different styles to take your ice cream, toppings etc. Something for everyone. When we have kids, this will be the place we'll take them as it seems to be a wonderful place to make amazing memories for kids. Wish I had this place growing...
