Worst McDonalds experience ever. I was simply prohibited from ordering my food. When I walked in and waited by the counter to be attended someone came from the kitchen and told me that they were closed. I said I just wanted to have a takeaway order, like the cars they were serving at the drive-thru. The guy said they were closed again and I should go to the drive-thru. I told him he should turn the lights off and lock the doors then, and went to the car line to try and order my food.

Getting there, the guy on the speaker said he couldn't let me go by foot because it was dangerous. I tried explaining the situation and the guy called his manager, to which i had to explain the situation again and ask what should I do to be attended there. The manager just said that I should get a car. Yeah, sure, spend thousands of dollars just so I can buy a burger, easy peasy. I live close by, even if I had a car I wouldn't drive it just to get a burger at the corner of my house.

When I came empty handed my flatmate asked what happened and I explained the ridiculous treatment. He couldn't believe this stupid situation and decide to give me a ride. When we got in line to order, we saw more customers going in and out from the dine-in area, probably having similar experiences to mine.

When making my order, they said they didn't sell any chicken McBites, even though it was highlighted on the menu with a big "we're back" slogan (or something like that). I had to insist that it was on the menu 3 times before the guy noticed that in fact they sell it. However I regretted ordering it, since it's not chicken bites, it's more like chicken pills since they're so damn tiny.

Just to make a note: there's even a courier area where delivery drivers can come by and pickup orders. I just can't understand why i couldn't have a damn pickup order for myself. I even checked on doordash, i could order McDonalds there and it would of course charge more because of driver's service. However, even on the app it doesn't let me pickup myself. Basically I should either buy a car in order to be able to buy a burger OR order through an app and pay more so a delivery guy walks a block from the pickup point to my home. It's just so stupid... I'm never going back to this...

The drive-thru system at McDonald’s Silverdale is fundamentally broken. On one visit, I witnessed the cashier take two consecutive orders from the same lane, leaving customers in the other lane, who had arrived earlier waiting far longer than necessary. To make matters worse, the second car in that favored lane had even arrived later than us. On another visit, I patiently waited while a customer in the other lane took an excessively long time to order and pay. By the time the cashier was finally able to take my order, it had just ticked over to 11:03 AM. I was told that the breakfast menu was no longer available. This was especially frustrating given that the customer before me, who was still ordering when the cutoff passed, was allowed to order from the breakfast menu. This is completely unacceptable. If McDonald's enforces a strict breakfast cutoff, then the system should account for customers already in the queue before the deadline. It is unfair and frankly disrespectful to deny service to customers who were clearly waiting in line before the cutoff, simply due to inefficiencies in your own drive-thru operations. This experience has completely undermined my trust and loyalty as a long-time customer. Do better, McDonald’s Silverdale because you’ve just lost someone who used to...

It just happened tonight. I am extremely disappointed and shocked by the poor customer service and the incredibly rude attitude displayed by the manager at Silverdale MCDonload’s drive-through.

We redeemed two offers via the mobile app and placed our order at the reception window. However, when we reached the pickup window, the manager claimed he could only see one order on his screen. We politely asked him to check with the reception, but he refused, insisting he only goes by what appears on the screen. Even after we showed him the screenshots of the two redeemed offers on our phone, he dismissed our request and refused to verify the issue with the reception.

It was late at night, and there were several customers in the drive-through queue. Despite this, the manager finally, and very reluctantly, gave us the second order. To our surprise, he then rudely told us, “DON’T COME BACK HERE AGAIN,” which was completely unacceptable.

This has been the worst experience we’ve ever had at a McDonald’s. The behavior was unprofessional, unfriendly, and utterly disappointing. I hope this issue can be addressed, as this is not the level of service we expect from a brand...

I was quite surprised to see so many negative reviews for McDonald's Silverdale because every time I've been, I've had a really positive experience! It’s probably a lot to do with the time of day—I've mostly visited on weekends during the day when it’s moderately busy but very manageable. I love that this is one of the newer McDonald’s locations, so the fit-out is modern, and the playground is fantastic. Every time I’ve been, it’s been really clean, and I’ve had no complaints at all. The staff are always friendly, and the food has been hot and fresh. I have seen comments about cleanliness, but honestly, it’s McDonald’s—it’s a fast-food chain, and the staff work hard to keep up. People should be realistic about where they are and what they’re paying for. For what it is, I think this location is excellent. Given that this is one of the only fast-food places in the area, the drive-thru probably gets slammed at peak times, which might explain some of the mixed reviews. But overall, I think very highly of this location and will definitely keep coming back! Also, I LOVE the app and deals!

Well, it's not as bad as Maccas Orewa, but that's not saying a lot. It's still the opening weeks, but the QSC is severely lacking. Hopefully this gets better overtime. Stuff was missed from our order, some stuff was provided incorrectly. There was not enough managerial staff on to deal with it, with a guy clearly not meant to be here helping out (not wearing a uniform) - that said he wasn't very helpful, walking away in the middle of helping me. The seating area is small with lots of just 2 seat tables which leaves a lot of people wandering around looking for extra chairs. There's 12 ordering stations which moves the queue from the ordering line to the waiting for food line. I think there were about 8-10 groups waiting when we were there. As an aside, someone mentioned about charger ports. Don't ever plug your devices into random, public USB ports!

Not very clean today, most of the tables with customers left over and a big mess, really. The young teenagers working today can't be bother taking customers orders, they ask customers to use the kiosks and whenever there is someone waiting for a bit of assistance they keep talking to each other instead of going to help. I wanted to pay in cash, but the looks they were giving me I felt uncomfortable and ordered myself on the kiosk. Not all staff are like that. Only the young ones on another good note, my burger, and my fries are delighted
