Editing down to a 2. Never thought I would do this to an Eden noodles. CHEF needs to sort his stuff out. Either he is arrogant or doesn’t listen. I even got the wife an extra mild tonight. I had a taste and 30 minutes later my lips are still numb. Can’t rate the food any good if they don’t listen.
I’m editing this down to a 4 star. My previous review is still listed below. But this chef needs to get his spice levels right. This is the only branch I have ever given less than a 5 star. I had a mild tonight and it was well into the hot category.
Chef needs to understand spice levels or learn to read. Every other branch can.
I have to still give these guys a 5. Seeing an average rating of 3.9 is criminal for this place. Yes it’s not quite the same as the OG Dominion Rd store, but it’s not far off. And substantially better than all these other places closer to it that have higher ratings.
The prices here are amazing and the fact they have gone from 1 store to 10 stores in the last 3 years speaks volumes.
Just do note that with this branch it pays to under order the spice level. His mild is medium, his medium is very hot. I have not even thought about what his...
Read moreI’ve always loved coming to Eden noodles — great food, friendly staff, the whole package. But recently, I’ve noticed something strange: the waitress here seem to be superhuman, able to work long shifts without ever sitting down! It’s impressive, really, though I imagine they might appreciate a chair every now and then, seeing as they’re not actually robots.
On a more serious note, standing for hours on end isn’t just uncomfortable, it’s unhealthy. And, believe it or not, New Zealand’s Health and Safety laws actually expect employers to care about the well-being of their staff. Shocking, I know.
I’d like to think this is just an oversight, and I’m sure you’ll fix it soon. But if not, and trust me I will know as I eat at your restaurant almost daily. I will pass this along to WorkSafe New Zealand to remind them that your staff deserve to be treated like humans. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to...
Read moreBeing in hospitality myself I don’t get as much opportunity as I would like to sample other establishments due to the crazy hours I work. I was introduced to this one by my daughter. We dropped in for lunch on a Saturday after shopping for a birthday cake. We each had a small? Bowl of noodles topped with crispy fried pork mince. We shared a cold dish of tripe with beef tenderloin. Wow the service was prompt and with a smile . The food spicy as the most authentic and delicious Szechuan I have enjoyed outside of China. I lived in China for 6 years so am I think qualified to say so. Not searingly hot but spicy enough to clear your sinuses. Non Asian diners should try it out and they will be amply rewarded. We will definitely be going again. My daughter assures me the other many branches are...
