This should hopefully give you, Momotea, and indication of how easy it is to lose customers over an ordeal which could be handled very, very simply. However, due to the lack of professionalism and basic people skills, this matter has lead to this. Extremely disappointed to throw the previously good memories away.
We went in for dinner last night, and ordered our usual meals (Chicken Pad Thai, which is damn good btw!), and a few drinks. My friend had ordered a milk tea, with clear instructions of no pearls - which was noted by the waitress. Drinks came out quite quickly which was great, however my friends milk-tea had pearls. The waitress realised, and stated the drink was either free, or could be replaced. We took the drink with pearls (realizing now, probably should have just requested a fresh one, regardless of avoiding wastage.)
Assuming that staff would have passed this information onto one another, we were later haggled to pay for the mistaken milk-tea by method of subtracting the cost of the pearls (1 dollar...), and God knows under what circumstances, your staff seemed to find this approach incredibly appropriate. I ask you, if someone asks for Chicken Pad Thai w/ no egg, and are given a Chicken Paid Thai WITH egg (which has happened previously), do you subtract the egg, and charge for the rest? No, you would throw this away, and prepare a new dish hopefully this time, without the egg. Leaving costs aside, an apology would be the most appropriate initial approach.
Anyways, a matter of 6 dollars lead to this unprofessional being laughing at us in disbelief, whilst adding that we were trying to get a free drink... Really? When asked to get the waitresses comments, we were told that she had left for the night and it wasn't in her control... 6 dollars. The matter grew, and the lady summoned another staff member. She too, felt it was ok to join the giggles club, and push on with charging us. After a few minutes of explaining, by some divine miracle, they agreed to wipe that off. I told her she wouldn't see us again, because of how the situation was handled. Love the other Momotea, but this specific one is losing its plot. Won't even bother writing about the state of the toilets.
Sort. It....
Read moreThis place used to be good but over the years their service and food has decreased in quality. These days their service is below average. The food is cheap and they have a good range, however the food comes out very fast (so the meat must not be fresh) and the food quality is not to good either. The drinks are yummy tho. The inside of the restaurant feels very unclean and they need an update - the momo tea sign is faded, the chairs a very ripped, they use a newspaper as a door stop, and they duct taped the baby high chairs and tables. If the restaurant is this unclean, the kitchen must be filthy. They don't have the Auckland city council food grade sign on display so I would be wary to eat there. Other than that, it's a great place to hang out...
Read moreConsidering I have been here over the years, not once had I found any crawlies in my food.
Tonight I ordered the cartilage fried chicken, half way digging into it, I had spotted a dead fried fly, this goes against health and food safety regulations, which I will be reporting. The staff were apologetic, and were understanding, however this is disgusting, I understand that you can’t prevent flies etc and things can happen, however there are food safety protocols that need to be followed. PLEASE START CLEANING YOUR EQUIPTMENT.
Other than that the food is still a good late night snack, just won’t be for me anymore. I hope Momo tea improves from here on out and serves customers foods properly, at the end of the day we are still...
