Pakuranga Bakery — Restaurant in Howick

Second time trying this bakery let me rate what I've tried.

Mince & cheese; 5/5 Yum! The pastry is perfect hands down every pastry on every pie I've tried is perfection. The consistency of this pie is good! Its not that yuck jelly consistency. Like a mince and cheese pie youd make at home. Hard to find decent mince and cheese pies so definitely recommend and I will continue buying mines from here now I know that they're good.

Paua pie; 3/5 ok. Pastry YUM! This pie is ok I've tried a few paua pies it's not the worst. More cream seafood monet taste than paua but you do get a tint of paua. I've tried on 2 separate occasions and felt the same both times.

Steak & cheese; 3/5 ok. I've only tried it once and didn't want to buy it again. Steak was to rough and didn't really like the flavour.

Butter chicken; 3/5 ok. This was alright nothing wrong with but not the best I've tried. Not bad though 👌

Chicken cranberry; 2/5; I didn't like this pie. It gave a sour after taste.

Bacon & egg; 1/5 Not for me. I'm a BIG Bacon & egg fan! When I look for a Bacon & egg pie I look for just that, a pie with just bacon & egg. This pie has something added to it like Mayo maybe and it was a little sweet. Not sure if I got a taste of maybe tomato sauce or something in it either but yes wasn't my favorite.

Pizza Bread; 5/5 YUM! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Perfect mix of bread, sauce and toppings. Bread is soft and just yum!

Cream donut; 5/5 YUM! Donut was soft and fresh and cream was fresh overall YUM!!!

These are just my opinions however everyone has different preferences. Definitely recommend trying yourself 😊

Service was fast, efficient...

First time here today and the service was brilliant. I went in later in the afternoon asking for a steak and cheese pie which was sold out so asked for a recommendation for their most popular pies. One of the recommendations was the palusami pie so I got one. I am Samoan so wasn't expecting it to be great inside a pie, then hello, there was also corned beef inside it too. What a set up! Lol Absolutely amazing. Pastry was on point and the filling wasn't an oily, soggy mess. 5/5 stars.

Service was brilliant. He asked if I'd tried the pie before and realised quickly it's my first time at his bakery. He kept up the friendly service and pace despite a huge queue in the bakery, even offered to put sauce on my chips as I was leaving. Amazing crew. Highly...

I recently visited this bakery and I have to say, it was an incredible experience! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked goods. The selection was impressive, with a variety of breads, pastries, and cakes that all looked mouthwatering.

I decided to try their signature croissant, and it was hands down the best I've ever had—flaky, buttery, and perfectly golden. I also sampled a slice of their chocolate cake, which was rich and decadent without being overly sweet. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the visit even more enjoyable.

Overall, Pakuranga is a must-visit for anyone who loves baked goods. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings! Highly...
