Sushi Sushi Botany — Restaurant in Howick

I came here today (11.50am) to get 3 poke bowls and a selection of sushi packs to takeaway to a meeting.

I noticed a long black hair lying on top of the cut California sushi rolls and told staff about it. The lady pulled the tray out, pulled the long hair out of the sushi (it was touching many of the pieces) and then put the tray back out for people to continue purchasing🤢. I'm currently pregnant so food safety standards are really important to me. It made me feel ill knowing that a physical contaminant like hair, mixing with their food, was not taken seriously as a food safety issue. Will record the incident as a complaint with the Council to keep on record.

Popped into Sushi Sushi at Botany Mall today for a quick snack and grabbed 3 rolls: crab, crispy chicken, and chicken. The staff were super friendly, and the place was spotless, which was awesome to see. They’ve got a solid variety of options, so there’s plenty to choose from. Only thing I wasn’t a fan of is that the prices on the counter for the food and sauces haven’t been updated. The food is wonderful, although a little pricey. But I’m puzzled as to why one of the staff chose to sit RIGHT NEXT to me on my table while I was having my food. There were 4 other empty tables inside??? A bit harassing to be honest. Lack of privacy and harassment as I couldn’t make a phone call as she was right next to me.
