My wife and i booked the Zone party room in Botany, Auckland, NZ on the 25th September (tonight) for my daughter’s 8th birthday party at 6pm.
Upon arriving , we enter the party room and it was an absolute pig sty to say the least.
Left over food and cake all over the floor , spilt drinks , sticky floor and was absolutely disgusting.
We went to the front counter and told the staff about it, they went in and started helping my family who were already in there cleaning, sweeping , wiping down the last party.
Called the manager Nakita over , i was absolutely furious.
She said to me “Oh , if you had of gone and played the games first and then come to the party room later on in the night, it would have been cleaned”, her attitude was unbelievable and unacceptable. Also by this time it was 6:30pm and the room was still a mess!
We book that room from 6pm onwards and we EXPECT it to be clean before we arrive!!! No exceptions and no excuses! It was filthy.
They have no right to tell us when to play games or what time to use that party room as part of our celebrations as long as we are within our booked time, nowhere in their policy does it say we are to arrive to a dirty room, go and play first and then come in later. Ridiculous excuse for not doing their job.
The fact it was disgusting , my family had to physically clean it themselves and then the attitude from the manager and staff , lying to us about when we are supposed to use the room etc!
Not a single person checked that room to make sure it was ready or clean for us. That just shows they don’t even check it when people leave.
This is not how we wanted to spend our daughters birthday and the experience has left us extremely disappointed and let down, we have tried to not let it ruin our night but the fact of the matter is , it has. It’s an ugly mood and everyone just wanted to go home.
I have CC’d in the email complaint and made aware the Chairman of TEEG (They own Timezone / Zone) Chris Hadley, Timezone Group Chairman Adam Steinburg & Timezone Group Managing Director Scott Blume.
I hope this isn’t normal and the management isn’t like this every time, absolutely appalling customer service especially the manager Nakita , This will be the last time we ever book with Zone /...
Read moreXtreme Entertainment could do with some serious improvement. I will only be reviewing the arcade portion of this establishment.
Xtreme Entertainment has a large spacious area for the arcade games, but there just isn't a large variety of games. A lot of the machines are old or have faults, there aren't many rhythm games and there aren't many claw machines. This establishment is constantly understaffed, especially during peak times like the holidays.
I love that Xtreme Entertainment has a lot of prizes on offer, they have a lot of plushies available to redeem with tickets or buy with your own cash. The plushie prizes here are arguably the best in Auckland.
I also love the quality of the customer service, although it depends on what staff members are rostered on (some are very good, others are very slow). Despite the long wait times on weekends and holidays, some of the staff always try their hardest to be helpful and serve customers. The computer system seems very slow and laggy sometimes, as it took one staff member over 5 minutes to complete my prize redemption.
Unfortunately, there is only one proper rhythm game (Pump It Up) in the arcade and the pads are nearly unplayable. The pads are not screwed down properly so they wobble a lot during gameplay which makes it harder to play on and the sensitivity is too low. The equipment seems poorly maintained and the fan blowing onto the machine contains a very thick layer of dust (I have posted a picture of the fan in my photos).
There's too much empty space, there should be more games available. The establishment in general feels quite grimey and dusty. I think the machines and the fan could do with a good clean out.
Other than that, I thoroughly enjoy the prizes available at this location and will collect tickets at other Time Zone establishments in order to save up and come back to redeem more prizes. However, I would not return to play the games until the machines are...
Read moreOur son had his birthday party there and we had a horrible experience , our host was not responsible and was not even present most of the time, he showed up at the beginning of the party and ask us to sort out the food order ourself and gone for the whole time, no interaction with the kids, all the children didnt even notice there was a host, basically feel we took a bunch of kids to bowling ourselves, he show up at laser game time and again no present during the game say nothing to the kids or explain anything basically just put them into the room and left again, worst part came to the arcade time, again no explaining the use of the card just gave each child a card and gone again!! And all the kids were running around, there were a lots of people in the arcade area that day, and we are running around making sure all the kids are safe and keep an eye on everyone as we need to take responsibility to our guests parents leave their kids with us, it was dreadful and stressful, and the host was hiding behind the reception chatting, It was definitely not as website advertised “”They will take the kids off your hands when you arrive, lead them around the venue to enjoy their activities, and help them get involved. Above all, our party hosts are there to create FUN. They will play games and entertain the children throughout the entire party as well as make sure that the birthday child is at the centre of everything and feels special on their big day – all while you sit back and relax!””
Nothing happened above as they described in the website, the host only promptly show up at the end and ask for the payment few times, feel like afraid us to leave without payment. Will not recommend to friends and family,...
