Go to Hello Stranger or Olea Coffee, you not only getting better food and coffee there, but they know how to respect their customers. The behaviour of the management and staff was nothing short of disgraceful. From the moment I entered, I was met with an attitude that can only be described as arrogant and disrespectful. It's clear that customer service is not a priority here.
Regardless of the food, RESPECT is THE MOST important thing. The owner of the restaurant, if you are reading this review, you need to learn the word RESPECT, clearly something this restaurant does not have.
The manager in particular exhibited an astonishing lack of professionalism. His dismissive and condescending attitude was evident in every interaction, making it clear that customers are not valued in this establishment. Instead of addressing concerns with understanding or even basic courtesy, he seemed more interested in asserting authority and making guests feel unwelcome.
The staff followed suit, treating me and others around me with the same level of disregard. It was as if they believed they were doing us a favour by simply allowing us to be there. The lack of respect and the arrogant demeanour of the entire team was nothing short of shocking.
This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable in any setting, let alone in the service industry. It left me feeling not just disappointed but angry that such treatment is allowed to continue. I strongly advise anyone considering a visit to think twice. There are many other restaurants where customers are treated with the respect and care they deserve—this is not one of them. Save yourself the frustration and...
Read moreDeadful experience. Such a shame as it used to be our favourite cafe. Not sure if it's new owners but service is now HORRENDOUS. I booked for brunch a week ago for Sunday 11am, 4 people. Arrived at 11am to find they had lost our booking. They sat us anyway. It was busy but there were still a number of empty tables. First issue: noone checked our vaccine passports or even asked if we had them. We sat down and got asked for our orders about 5 mins later. Our hot drinks arrabout 10 mins later but no orange juice which we ordered. We asked again for it and was told they didn't do orange juice, just apple with orange (we said that was fine). 45 mins later we still hadn't seen our food so asked how much longer it would be. 15 more mins and our 2 cold dishes arrived but still no hot food, but other tables who had arrived after us were eating their hot meals. I went to the counter and asked again. They said "we are really busy". A chilli scrambled egg got put on the serving counter (one of the dishes we had ordered) and it got taken to a different table of people who were there after us! Eventually our food turned up .... wrong! (Eggs Benedict with bacon and a side of mushrooms ordered but eggs bene with mushrooms and no bacon served to us). We asked about the bacon and a side order got given to us ... two TINY shrivelled pieces of bacon on a plate. They gave us 50% off the bill. But over 1.5 hours to get our food (1x scrambled eggs, 1x eggs bene, 1x paleo bowl, 1x cereal bowl) is unacceptable. We will NOT be back and recommend you don't go either. Plenty of other great options in the area with better service and nicer...
Read moreI thought this would be a nice place to have brunch while waiting for my son to sit his driver license nearby. The people here were rude, unwelcoming, unprofessional and held back by prejudice. I waited 15 minutes to be brought a menu after entering and being asked to take a seat at a table of my choice. Two groups entered after me and were seated and served before me. Customers at another table felt sorry for me and asked a waiter if I was being served. When the waiter finally came to me she said, "are you alright?" In a rude tone. I replied that I was waiting for a menu and service. I also informed her that the normal way to address a customer is to say hello, not "are you alright". Two groups after me were seated and served immediately. I wish I was treated exactly like those two groups. I ordered the most expensive meal on the menu which was below average and almost impossible to enjoy after being received in such an appalling manner. When I went to settle the bill the ladies talked amongst themselves for about 15 seconds before finally looking at me and waited for me to say something. I said I was prepared to pay half of the bill due to the poor service and to their credit they said the meal would be free. They also offered me food from the deli. I said I didn't want free food but to be treated with the same dignity as everyone else. I'm sorry that my son witnessed the tail end of this transition whereby watching his Maori Father leaving a premises with such indignation on what should've been a happy milestone for him. I hope his fair skin protects him from these situations...
