I just wont ever use these guys ever again really bad customer service and no liability beware! We moved from Henderson to Orewa. Our shift from Henderson at the end of January 22 was amazing, the boys were super careful and were so helpful, but that is where the good service ended. We put our belongings into storage for 5 weeks into what we were told was a private lock up that could not be accessed by anyone. well 5 weeks later the truck arrived at our new home with three guys, Two were brand new and untrained and really not up to the job. We had boxes that were dropped marked fragile, a box marked laundry products and marked THIS WAY UP and this was tipped upside down, picture frames damaged that were not heavy just awkward, an outdoor table with a whole punched through, our large Rimu dining table and coffee table that was in pristine condition before moving, was scratched gouged and dented with what looks like gravel marks on the top, but even worse than that we had 4 fishing rods and a large oak coffee table and a box of perfumes just not turn up ??? and a few item delivered that were not ours that took a month and me threatening to take to the tip to get picked up. After a month of me hounding the company calling emailing every day and not getting anywhere (they were looking for our coffee table apparently) I was getting totally frustrated. I was sent a curt note from the manager to say that I has signed a paper saying they accept no liability unless damage or loss was intentional . So they are able to loose furniture and cause huge damage and there is no liability on their part. They are not professional movers , how is this possible. They lost our contents and damaged a huge amount of property our estimate at the moment is around $10,000. I can understand a little damage they are large items that require professional movers that's why we chose them. but goods not turning up (we presume stolen)... and so much damage to our property. Yes we are insured but we pay the excess and loose our no claims bonus because of their carelessness. No care and no liability from this company makes them a company that should not be dealt with. I have family that moved in the last few months that had much better care and response from their chosen moving company. Just Beware and...

Auckland Movers moved our furniture out of our house, with only one minor incident where they scratched our ceiling with the drier and spilled washing machine water all over the carpet.
They then stored our furniture for approx 6month, in what was supposed to be a "private secure" facility. This was not the case when they sent photos showing our items were being stored with multiple other peoples furniture. In these photos that were sent to us on moving day where they were requesting clarity on what furniture was our, you could already see that items were damaged...
When our furniture arrived our fears were proven correct - All of our large furniture was severely damaged: Dining table, dining chairs, bar stools, media unit, outdoor dining table, BBQ, Bed Head. Damage included gouges taken out of tables, corners of tables snapped, stones/gravel embedded in the end grain of table, scratches and gouges taken out of chairs and bed head,
Obviously we refused to pay because of the condition of our goods, and we managed to get a quote to repair/replace any damaged goods whilst the move was still happening because the furniture was all so new and all came from the same shop - Over $8,000
We were met with apathy and a lack of remorse from both the moving labourers who decided to sit on our couch and said they wouldn't move until we paid, and the manager on the phone who repeatedly said that moving furniture was at the owners risk... This apathetic remorseless response was the toughest pill to swallow.
I understand moving being at the owners risk and that accidents happen! But there is a difference between and someone dropping/damaging one table, and all of our furniture having scratches, cracks, gouges, buckled, stones embedded. Each item had multiple impact areas, and looked like they'd had been dragged across a carpark - That is negligence, and verged on deliberate.
Very disappointed and surprised that there are companies out there with this approach to business, and lack of preparedness to own up to...
Read moreWouldn't go near again. Only time had big problems with movers. On phone, and email, you have impression that as per many other companies, you are getting who you speak to... No. They SUBCONTRACT JOBS OUT and do not tell you. Then won't deal with fallout from unprofessional movers you may get, and I very unfortunately got. Response from my driver, Shar, was apparently that I had "80 loose bags" and other nonsense. I have photos as I had a bad feeling about whole thing. Had to tell one to stop watching what I was doing (simple tasks I certainly did not need his oversight with) and get on with loading truck. They found my 2 bed unit move hard. They ignored flouro notes I had on items saying where it belonged. A 4 hr estimate took 7 hrs, for a 2 bed unit where I had cleared out a lot of excess to auction, charities, friends, neighbours... All sorts of blatant lies about why, and I have witnesses, photos. I very much regret not searching harder for my prior movers (used twice) details and was naive as over all my years never had such slowness, complaints about things being heavy, had to do so much myself (after all the packing and cleaning). Shar demanded payment (which was nearly $600 over quote and therefore that alone was more than cost of my previous move where I had more for them to load) before job finished. Then I had to chase truck as they tried to take off before putting the last items upstairs as clearly labelled. Instructions ignored and heavy stuff piled on top of item I wanted to have easy access to.... whole thing was stressful, incredibly long, a lot of lies and excuses, a lot of milling about rather than just moving things, and cost 3 times my previous guys who were friendly, no gripes, strong, organised, listened, good humoured. I found this experience just awful, and office shifts blame to subcontractors even though receipt is Auckland Movers and Storage with no details given prior, or even at end (I had to force that bit of information out of them) that it is a subcontract and that will be used as an actual out for responsiblity for conducting job in a non whingey and...
