North Shore BBQ & KTV 夜烧 北岸店 — Restaurant in Kaipātiki

From the moment we made our reservation to the last-minute changes in our group size, the staff communicated with us warmly and made us feel genuinely welcome — that’s our first highlight.

Because we had young children with us, we requested all dishes to be non-spicy. To our delight, every dish was still incredibly flavourful and delicious. We even joked that this was the healthiest barbecue we’d ever had — who knew it could taste so good without any chilli! That is the second highlight.

One small surprise was the grilled fish in hotpot:we hadn’t realised the side ingredients inside the fish needed to be ordered separately (there were some included, but fewer compared to other places), and they were charged by weight. While we did end up spending a bit more than at other places, we were still very happy nonetheless.

Lastly, since we ordered quite a bit, there were minor hiccups with serving; however, the staff handled it with such sincerity and positivity that we were impressed — our third highlight.

We went last night after searching for a karaoke bar on a Friday night. There aren't many karaoke bars out here in Auckland with the popular ones are mainly in the city. So it was great finding this place in North Shore.

It's easy to get to and had plenty of parking. The karaoke availability was good (many time slots available) whilst the place is still new.

The staff were very friendly, attentive and went the extra mile. They were happy to help us use the karaoke display system. There were a good variety of Chinese and English songs. The room was modern, very spacious and cosy (heat pump for winter) with nice decor on the wall.

We mainly went for karaoke but realized their food is also amazing with a huge selection to choose from. You can dine in the restaurant downstairs or have it upstairs during your karaoke session. The food quality and choice definitely beats what's on offer at other karaoke bars in the city and is very reasonably priced.

It would be nice if they could create a happy hour deal for the future as I can foresee coming...

Northshore BBQ is a hidden gem that truly delivers when it comes to flavor and hospitality. The meats were cooked to perfection—tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. The sides were just as impressive—fresh, well-seasoned, and the perfect complement to the mains.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. Whether you’re after a casual dinner, a weekend treat, or a place to bring visitors, Northshore BBQ doesn’t disappoint. Definitely coming back for more!
