It's Saturday busy time in Mangere, Pacific markets open till 14pm if you have never been why not come and experience it in Mangere on Saturdays lots to see and do and then a treat at Maccas. Lobby was a mess needless to say busy for the managers and staff but if you know that why not put an extra person on Saturdays for the lobby, one person cannot sustain the lobby unless they are primarily assigned but that was not the case he was also needed before coming out to lobby. Tables were full we found a table for 6 people and cleaned it ourselves using the cloths on the side of the bins. Question why would you mop the floors when the priority were the tables where customers sit and eat, clean tables provide repeat of business? . Food ordered over counter ask for no salt as fries were plenty in the fry tray which means either over holding or mixing fresh fries with warm fries something to look at when buying fries ask for no salt and they are always hot fresh. Ordered a coffee asked for trim milk no froth but it came with 1/3 more of froth which is not what was ordered and it means I only end up with a 3/4 cup of mccafe coffee which is not great when you pay for a flat white, trim milk, no froth? Medium cup they end up making on their profit over a period of time. ( something to think about) had a custard tart not moist, soft, delectable quite rubbery to firm, not the best. Ample car parking but Saturdays you need to be easy always packed it's market day. Food ok kids love maccas so you treat the kids but product quality was not its best. Toilets were clean but a broken hand dispenser. Why when it's beginning of school holidays that staff look stressed no smiles, only x2 service and 4 people d/thru and customers queuing the lines. Looking at the order and pickup through order numbering this needs to be fine tuned to work for the customer not make customers wait for 10 minutes and then no apology for waiting. This happens right across fast foods they give you a number or direct you to the pickup Lane and you end up waiting just as long as when you waited to order. Fast food companies like Maccas, KFC, BK, CJ, need to do a better job with the order/pickup system it is suppose to make things more efficient but it is just the opposite. If you know your sales by the hour you should project for staffing but a balance of staffing on the floor, , training, new and experience to meet the needs of your customers not the sales to meet profit. People (customers) make profit. It can be frustrating finally you get your food over $60 spend and it's warm well quality is not the best, service not the best. I graded a 3 well that's for overall experience, I hadn't been to Maccas in such a long time and I know why? experience is important so much has changed in fast food chains all over but that should be for the better of the chain brands in meeting customer needs or is it to increase profits to get customers in first to spend? Discounts, meal deals, promotions, lunch deals, dinner deals these all get customers in but what about EXPERIENCE for customers internally (employee) and externally (customers)? People make profit it's how you define VALUE at what expense? Maybe having an off day, understaffed, not treated fairly, poor customer attitude?, relations or...
Read morePLEASE NOTE: This is a review for Georgie Pie NOT Mcdonalds. Thank you :) I give the pie 5 stars!!
I wouldn't normally be seen dead in Mcdonalds, but swallowed my gastronomic pride and morale sensibilities to try one of the NEW OLD Georgie Pie Pies that Mcdonalds resurrected in Mid 2013.
A kiwi icon, Georgie Pie was bought out by Mcdonalds some 15 years ago only so they could close them down for fear that us Kiwis were a little to fond of our pies ( did I mention I dislike McDonalds?) Having banked the Georgie Pie brand for 15 years, Mcdonalds were in danger of losing the license as they hadn't done anything with the brand making it fair game for anyone else to purchase it. Soooo, McDonalds resurrected the good old kiwi brand Georgie Pie by bringing back one pie available at a few of its outlets.
So this was my mission to sample the pie which meant unfortunately that I would have to give over some of my hard earned cash to this marketing goliath, which I did so in the name of research only.
The pie (steak mince and cheese) was smaller than I remember and for $4.50 a lot more expensive than memory serves too. But I suppose that 15 years of inflation will do that to a pie.
The pie was sitting in a warmer where they normally leave their artery clogging big macs, but who am I to talk on this occasion as a pie can be just as unhealthy. The crust didnt look to impressive but after biting through its buttery layers I was more than pleasantly surprised by how light and delicious the crust was. It had an almost hand made quality to it and was neither to flakey or to crunchy making it a perfect vessel for the flavoursome filling and oozy cheese.
Each bite I took had me in heaven, this was one of the best pies I had eaten in years. In my defence, I have been living in Australia for 6 years, and despite what they tell themselves they do not make pies as good as the kiwis. Its a bit like their rugby playing skills ~ they think they are a lot better than they actually are until they land on NZ soil and play the All blacks.
So back to the pie. It was worth conquering my fears and walking into a Mcdonalds to buy one. It was worth the $4.50 price tag and it was worth buying 10 more, freezing them down, placing them in my suitcase and bringing them back to Australia....
Read moreCould do with a brush up on clear communication when dealing with new customers, in regards to directing customers of where to park up to wait for their order. The double filet-o-Fish was a disappointment, two patties, tiny amount of sauce and half a slice of cheese. I wouldve expected a bit more for the price I paid for my order, but was hugely disappointed, not to mention the chips tasted like they had been sitting for too long. Definitely will not be recommending nor spending any of my hard earned cash there. Macdonalds Mangere, you are really living up to your reputation. Want better food for the price,go out of south Auckland. I would honestly recommend checking under your buger. A friend of mine bought the Mac attack with fries and sprite. When we got home he opened his first big Mac,pulled his burger out, started eating it. He was constantly looking at the inside his the box where his burger came in and underneath the bits of salad and mayo he found a long thick black piece of hair. Disgusting. The quality of the food was way below average, limp, stale and cold chips, and a stowaway stranded piece of hair. You guys are...
