I visited Chicking Māngere a few days ago with my family, hoping for a good meal based on their Facebook promotions. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what was advertised. After placing our order, we had to wait over 30 minutes at the store, which was frustrating—especially since we weren't informed about the long wait beforehand. A simple heads-up at the time of ordering would have helped manage our expectations. When we finally received our food, the fries were soggy and the overall quality was very disappointing. To make matters worse, the staff member at the front (a woman wearing a hijab, who identified herself as the store manager) was quite dismissive and showed poor attitude when we asked about the delay. First time going to this fast food joint with a couple of friends as we wanted to branch out from the usual KFC. Order a bucket of chicken, however we were told they would have to make a fresh batch of chicken (honestly not a problem at all) which we were looking forward too, fried chicken at it's freshest, how much better could it get? However, once we received the chicken and took a bite, we all agreed that it was the worst fried chicken we've ever had. It was the driest, blandest chicken we've ever had. The chicken was lacking in seasoning, both the white and dark meat we're extremely dry that we couldn't even finish it. None of us even bothered to take it home for later consumption it was that bad, we just ended up tossing it.
