Caffeinate — Restaurant in Manawatū-Whanganui

Just after 6am my husband and I were in search of coffee after a very long night of traveling by ferry from the south island, Queenstown, NZ over night and sleeping in the car on the side of the road. With very few cafes open this early, we came across Caffinate. It was open! We ordered 2 mocha coffees and eggs wbacon on toast. As it turned out the owner, Andrew was the one who served us and gladly made us breakfast. Typically breakfast is not served until the cook arrives at 7:30 but I think Andrew may have felt bad for our situation the night prior and sleeping in our rental car. He is a delightful gentleman who happens to make incredible delicious scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and the mocha was delicious too!

This cafe may be small in size but huge on service and great food. We popped in as Andrew makes the best iced coffee which I absolutely love. Today we had a toasted croissant which was Devine. Crispy on the outside light inside and filled with a nice amount of ham tomato frilly lettuce. The muffin the best I have had warmed to perfection again crispy on the outside and light tasty texture on the inside. I think I will be a regular when I go to Levin. It was the second visit for our scoffies (coffee and scone). Everybody loved the food, drinks, price and friendly service although the Professor (McFussy) detected a bitter note in the coffee.
