Mr Kapoor Indian Restaurant Feilding — Restaurant in Manawatū-Whanganui

My colleague and I found ourselves in Feilding during a week working up in the Manawatu and fancied a curry; Mr Kapoor's got good reviews, so we thought we'd try it.

Although it doesn't look like much from the outside and the inside is basic but functional (extra star for clean toilets!), the food was superb and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We were offered free poppadoms, then I started with a couple of vegetable pakoras, a Kadai Chicken and a plain naan. The pakoras were lovely, rich in flavour and not greasy. The kadai chicken was spicy (I asked for medium), but not overpowering the flavours of the sauce over a generous amount of tandoori chicken chunks. The na'an was large and buttery, obviously freshly baked with just the right balance of crispy and bread.

We're both originally from the Midlands in the UK and have had plenty of curries in the past; Mr. Kapoors scored highly and I would definitely go back. I think it might even be the best curry I've had since...

I came here with a group of 5 on a Tuesday night when we couldn't get in to our original choice. Wow, I can't believe I've never been here before. The food was the best Indian I've had in years. The price point was great and the servings were generous. The range was fantastic and seemed to cover most dietary challenges. The only downside was that for some reason they weren't serving alcohol (I suspect because Tuesday is so quiet, it might be a night off for the person with the certificate). This place deserves to be SOOO much busier! Our first visit after the change of ownership was a very pleasant one. The facility has been freshened up, the lights were all on, the music was quiet and the a/c kept us cool. Thank you to the young woman hosting who adjusted the temp when we arrived. Ahh! The food was delicious and arrived at table blazing hot. Naan was scruptiously light and fluffy, with those yum charged spots. We were the only dine in customers, but there were five takeaways while we were dining. We will be back, and I hope more people give this little place a go.
