Parnells Cafe — Restaurant in Manawatū-Whanganui

Stopped in for breakfast on Tuesday 10th June. From out of town so didn't really know the area. The service took a little while - but once they realized there werea group of Us, 2 extra people came out. The food came out swiftly after that! I ordered the scrambled eggs on toast witha rosti. I personally like my eggs cooked a little more - but I should have told the server that. They were very good on the toast. Rosti was crunchy and soft on the inside. I also ordered Camomile Tea. My friend & I stopped here for brunch on our way to Palmy. It was immediately bright & appealing inside with many customers, showing how popular this little gem is! I had Salmon Benedict which for the price, expected smoked salmon but got a very small piece of seared instead. Also, my eggs weren't cooked enough & the toast was a little soggy. I should have alerted the kitchen about my meal not being entirely satisfactory & also specified exactly what I wanted, but in saying that, the order taker didn't ask any questions. What made up for everything though was my fantastic Passionfruit Smoothie - refreshing & full of flavour! Situated on a corner and Wanganui Collegiate just up the street , this is a great location for a cafe in a renovated cottage. There is outdoor seating which is hidden from the street. Local art/ craftwork fills the walls which is all for sale. A selection of cabinet food and menu food to order. Their gourmet club sandwiches are delicious and filling. Mojo coffee is served but I personally prefer the size down from their smaller cup , due to this my triple shot was still quite weak.I should have requested it to be 3/4 filled.My mistake.
