Ye Olde Bakehouse — Restaurant in Masterton

Not the best experience, sadly. This place has potential, but oh boy, the weird sounds the staff make when you order are a bit much. I mean, when I asked for a chicken sandwich and they responded with, “Mmmm yesss yum,” I almost ordered a side of cringe! Don’t get me wrong the staff are absolutely lovely people.

My partner loved the sausage rolls—until he found a hair halfway through. Feels like it’s lost its spark. My Co-worker got a sandwich, which is described he could throw through a window that’s how hard it was. The iced chocolates and iced coffees? Absolute letdowns. Popped in this morning for a quick coffee at about 6 am with absolutely no expectations and were wonderfully surprised by the welcoming costumer service and beautiful range of affordable cabinet food and coffee. Every staff member we interacted with was lovely and very helpful. Everything tasted very fresh. Popped in whilst on a roadtrip into this lovely Bakehouse - an absolute pleasure and brightened a long trip! Both staff were friendly and easy going. One made a sandwich up fresh when the options available didn't suit due to an allergy. We also got to try the pork pies.
