Esbighs Eatery - Bulls — Restaurant in North Island

We used to be regulars here, at least 2-3 times a week now we are no longer customers. I called for an order (as it's my birthday and wanted good chips) and specifically asked if they had regular straight cut chips and they said they did. Then we get home to find poor quality- nothing but dust inside- hard crinkle chips, which my kids can't eat. I called them back and explained the situation and asked for a refund (less than $10) which they declined. I understand there is a potato etc shortage but I called and specifically asked before hand. Hubs and I called in this afternoon and had a burger each oysters and fish and chips. Everything was absolutely delicious and the fish was cooked to perfection with a really light crispy batter. Service was awesome and friendly. I work in hospitality and couldn't fault a thing. If anyone is passing through I Def recommend the fish and the burgers hands down! Service was slow staff pleasant however unsure of the availability of fresh fish. Took 45 minutes to have my order filled.Good sized portion of chips however the fish was so small it was hard to see in the batter in fact one couldn't even taste it.along with being over cooked.
