Gloria Jean's Café - Bayfair — Restaurant in North Island

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at your coffee shop today, June 20th, after 17:00.

I was attended by a lady with long brown hair, glasses, and a short stature. I am mentioning her physical appearance only to ensure that there is no confusion with another staff member, the tall and skinny lady who is always very polite and professional.

Unfortunately, my experience with that particular staff member has been less than satisfactory on multiple occasions. Today, when I approached the counter, she rolled her eyes and exhibited an unwelcoming attitude, not smile, not eye contact at all and answering with a tough voice. I always ask to people who serve in a polite and courteous way, so her behavior was quite disheartening. It felt as though I was annoying her for the simple fact the ask for service in a working hours, not even close to the closing time because under that situation I will understand.

This is not an isolated incident. Several times in the past, she has displayed similar behavior, especially when she is talking with a friend who often sits at a corner stand. On those occasions, her focus seems to be more on the conversation than on providing good customer service.

I believe that a key part of the coffee shop experience is friendly and attentive service. It's disappointing when that expectation is not met, particularly when it seems to be a recurring issue with the same staff member. Why she is doing that to herself and your company? instead of having a job where she doesn't have to deal with people or something like that.

I hope you will take this feedback into consideration and address this issue. I enjoy your café and would like to continue visiting, but consistent negative experiences like these make it difficult, Muffin break doesn't have same quality in my perspective but the staff is super friendly.

I've come to this establishment a few times now and it has been busy so each time a bit of a wait for the coffee. The food was a hit and miss. I ordered a chocolate mud cake muffin and that was a miss. It tasted like a box version from supermarkets. So i was very dissapointed. On the other hand, the lemon bread i had, perfect 👏🙌👌 the casing was full of syrup, the flavour mild but amazing, and evenly distributed through the whole casing. Really yum. Dont miss out on that. Sorry i dont know what the lemon bread is called but i would definitely buy that one again. The coffee, it was okay. Cant complain as im still drinking it, its just okay. The scones we bought were were not light & fluffy more like bricks. We asked if they were heated she didn't know so put her hand on it to check🤢. And I said oh don't do that she replied we always do that. 😳 really horrified at this point. Then we noticed she cleared a table and wiped it over with her bare hand no cloth no disinfectant. I'm afraid I will not likely return. It's winter time and there all kinds of bugs around she should be more hygienic all the time let alone winter. Bring back...
