Our whanau of 5 went to Nautilus for my birthday lunch! We booked a table in the morning & were lucky to get one as they had a wedding party booked in, we dined outside which was a really nice change as the day was brilliant & we had lovely sea views & of the Mount! The downfall was the tables encroached on the buffet area where people were lining up to get their food right on lunchtime, we found ourselves lined up outside, people squeezing past us waiting & those eating at the tables with their plate fulls trying to get past & back their table. Fantastic range of food all you can eat for a good price & dine free on your birthday! 👍 23/02/2021 We headed to nautilus for my birthday dinner 4x adults. We booked a table for 7.00pm wasn't overly busy no mad rush to & from the buffet. The food was as expected for a buffet an range of seafood, salads, Asian dishes, Indian dishes, an assortment of sweets/desserts. Fantastic view of Mauao & surrounded by the water wether you choose to dine during the day or evening. Always a nice place to dine for couples or family. service was friendly. Dine free on your birthday with proof of I.D Enjoy! 🙂

Worst place I have ever dined at, I would give it 0 stars but then lowest I can give is 1. Had a terrible experience, staff behaviour was absolutely appalling and incredibly unprofessional. My partner and I decided to have a sit down dinner and chose nautilus, terrible decision. After sitting down my partner cut into his chicken and it was raw inside. Raw, pink with blood. He cut into all his pieces of chicken and the result was the same with all of them. We asked over a staff member to come over to speak to about this problem, when we showed her the chicken she just screamed across the restuarant to call over another employee, and then spoke to him in another language. They both pulled out phones and started googling excuses to make for their uncooked chicken. We were unhappy with their excuse. It was almost $80 for the both of us to eat here and the quality of all their food was appalling. The 'manager' refused to give a refund for any reason including raw chicken. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT come here, I would reccomend Mill House in Tauriko.

5 star Lovely staff, 3 star reasonable cleanliness. 1 star food quality. The reason we went was heard there are nice oysters for the buffet at diner. NOT THAT AT ALL! They only serve 6 oysters every 30mins and there were around 30 people dinning at the night we went. We do understand this is budget buffet and understand we only pay $33 for buffet but I could not stand “fresh oysters” they claim was awful! Not fresh at all, a bit yellow and taste like been frozen for at least a week. If you are looking for a budget Chinese with lovely staff and range of fried food - this is your place to go for. If you are wanting a quality dinner - DO NOT GO NEAR HERE. Hope this helps!

My partner and I had dinner there lastnight and we will never go back.

The service Was not terrible but could have been better, the lady at the counter just barked our table number at us like we were supposed to know where it was, thankfully a barman saw us looking lost and directed us to our table, we got asked for drinks once during our 1.5hours there, we would normally have at least 3 drinks during dinner, their loss. And on paying the woman at the desk didn't even talk to us when we left other then to tell us how much the drinks cost, no thanks, no have a good night, things like that matter in hospo.

The place was clean though and the waitresses kept the tables clear.

The food was not good, We went particularly for the oysters cause dang who doesn't want oysters on tap, and there were none when we arrived and they filled it twice while we were there, it must have been a dozen at a time cause if you didn't happen to be at the buffet when they came out you wernt getting any I managed to get 4. And then there were no more for another 45min. And I know the other diners were waiting for them too cause I heard them comment. Now the main reason I didn't eat more then 4 (other then I didn't want to be the buffet stalker) was that they wash them with fresh water, that is Sacrilege WHO washes Oysters. They along with the prawns and mussles were actually terrible washed out and watery. The chowder was average and that's being nice magi packet chowder with water instead of cream kinda average but my cuzzies make bomb chowder so it would be hard for them to stack up. The mains were average take aways fare, it was OK but the broccoli and cheese tasted like the smell of the patero I did this morning and kwang chow do it better. The desert buffet was tired recycled and stale the chocolate mousse was like instant pudding mixed with water and the ambrosia tasted like sad 😟. It's...

I had booked out the restaurant for a large 80th function but it was a disaster. We were so squashed we could barely move, with members of the public coming through us constantly. The services promised eg high chairs, a small table for the cake, group seating rather than a heap of individual tables, having the restaurant area closed to the general public, as there were over 60 of us, were not provided and caused a problem. We had to cancel our speeches because of the noise from the public. Emails to them to make arrangements etc don't get answered so I had to keep following up with phone calls and be passed from person to person until someone could answer my questions, or be able to open emails. It is okay for a meal but not as a function center. The food was OK given the price, however several of our party were very sick with food poisoning afterwards, and some had to take time off work they were so bad. Several of the food items ran out and were not replenished as they just could't cope with the numbers. I felt sorry for the staff as they were stressed, trying to move between the tables and do their job. I wouldn't recommend this place for a function at all. OK for Sunday lunch.

Since writing this, I have received a really lovely phone call from the manager, apologising for the situation and giving me a voucher to take the birthday gent back for a meal and promising to make the time special for him. This is much appreciated and I respect him for his phone call and return...

Firstly, my friend and I went to Nautilus without booking. The fat lady told us to sit outsite though I told her that I was cold but she doesn't care. My friend saw that 2 of the customers came later than us that without booking too they were sitting outside in a while but they were having a table inside the restaurant later. As compared to us were freezing outside with the blowing of cold sea breeze. The foods was terrible. The oysters were not fresh. I bet they had been stored in the fridge for couple of days. The lamb rib and chicken wings were overcooked and chewy like eating the tree skin and tasteless. The roasted porks were not fresh too. There was a guy was cooking in front of the customers created an illusion that the roasted pork were freshly cook. But when I bite on the pork, it was so dry. I think they just reheat what they can't finish selling yesterday. The dumpling was old and tasteless. It can't be helped with lao gan ma chili paste and vinegar. The salad was not good too especially for the green vegetables. They smell like sweaty big man's armpit. And lastly, the desserts were bad too. The ice cream melt in the fridge. It's because the fridge was not cold enough?? I don't know. I don't recommend people to dine in in this restaurant. At least for me and my friend, we will not coming back again for bad service and...
