My partner and I had dinner there lastnight and we will never go back.
The service Was not terrible but could have been better, the lady at the counter just barked our table number at us like we were supposed to know where it was, thankfully a barman saw us looking lost and directed us to our table, we got asked for drinks once during our 1.5hours there, we would normally have at least 3 drinks during dinner, their loss. And on paying the woman at the desk didn't even talk to us when we left other then to tell us how much the drinks cost, no thanks, no have a good night, things like that matter in hospo.
The place was clean though and the waitresses kept the tables clear.
The food was not good, We went particularly for the oysters cause dang who doesn't want oysters on tap, and there were none when we arrived and they filled it twice while we were there, it must have been a dozen at a time cause if you didn't happen to be at the buffet when they came out you wernt getting any I managed to get 4. And then there were no more for another 45min. And I know the other diners were waiting for them too cause I heard them comment. Now the main reason I didn't eat more then 4 (other then I didn't want to be the buffet stalker) was that they wash them with fresh water, that is Sacrilege WHO washes Oysters. They along with the prawns and mussles were actually terrible washed out and watery. The chowder was average and that's being nice magi packet chowder with water instead of cream kinda average but my cuzzies make bomb chowder so it would be hard for them to stack up. The mains were average take aways fare, it was OK but the broccoli and cheese tasted like the smell of the patero I did this morning and kwang chow do it better. The desert buffet was tired recycled and stale the chocolate mousse was like instant pudding mixed with water and the ambrosia tasted like sad 😟. It's...
Read moreI had booked out the restaurant for a large 80th function but it was a disaster. We were so squashed we could barely move, with members of the public coming through us constantly. The services promised eg high chairs, a small table for the cake, group seating rather than a heap of individual tables, having the restaurant area closed to the general public, as there were over 60 of us, were not provided and caused a problem. We had to cancel our speeches because of the noise from the public. Emails to them to make arrangements etc don't get answered so I had to keep following up with phone calls and be passed from person to person until someone could answer my questions, or be able to open emails. It is okay for a meal but not as a function center. The food was OK given the price, however several of our party were very sick with food poisoning afterwards, and some had to take time off work they were so bad. Several of the food items ran out and were not replenished as they just could't cope with the numbers. I felt sorry for the staff as they were stressed, trying to move between the tables and do their job. I wouldn't recommend this place for a function at all. OK for Sunday lunch.
Since writing this, I have received a really lovely phone call from the manager, apologising for the situation and giving me a voucher to take the birthday gent back for a meal and promising to make the time special for him. This is much appreciated and I respect him for his phone call and return...
Read moreFirstly, my friend and I went to Nautilus without booking. The fat lady told us to sit outsite though I told her that I was cold but she doesn't care. My friend saw that 2 of the customers came later than us that without booking too they were sitting outside in a while but they were having a table inside the restaurant later. As compared to us were freezing outside with the blowing of cold sea breeze. The foods was terrible. The oysters were not fresh. I bet they had been stored in the fridge for couple of days. The lamb rib and chicken wings were overcooked and chewy like eating the tree skin and tasteless. The roasted porks were not fresh too. There was a guy was cooking in front of the customers created an illusion that the roasted pork were freshly cook. But when I bite on the pork, it was so dry. I think they just reheat what they can't finish selling yesterday. The dumpling was old and tasteless. It can't be helped with lao gan ma chili paste and vinegar. The salad was not good too especially for the green vegetables. They smell like sweaty big man's armpit. And lastly, the desserts were bad too. The ice cream melt in the fridge. It's because the fridge was not cold enough?? I don't know. I don't recommend people to dine in in this restaurant. At least for me and my friend, we will not coming back again for bad service and...
