Le Petit Four — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

Do not waste your time and money at this place. We ordered 2 salmon Benedict's and a sandwich for our son. Half way through waiting they decided only to then to let us know that they didn't have ciabatta bread and gave us a choice of white or seed (one of us is allergic to seeds) with no sorry or a drink to make up for the bread that costs them much less that we paid for(unacceptable as we could have ordered their cheap sandwiches). Out comes the inedible food (non of us except my husband who was starving could finish the meal). My son's sandwich which he barely touched was too sweet, our eggs Benedict with smoked salmon came with a conglomeration of unseasoned poached salmon that was removed from the fridge and never warmed up. Gross! This was the most disappointing meal we have had in a very long time! We were not about to waste our time complaining in house, we will just never return. I see someone else below with a very similar experience and instead of the restaurant taking it as constructive criticism they decide to be rude in their response and continue to serve fridge cold unseasoned...

Appalling service. Croissant hadn't come for quite a while. Busy in cafe so waited longer to allow more time. Coffee going cold and noticed people who'd come in after me were being served cake etc. Asked waitress about croissant. Then asked another. Then went to the counter. Young guy brought it out and it was burnt and inedible. He said I hadn't explained which one to get out of the toaster. ie "you didn't ask for me to get the toasted almond croissant. You asked for the toasted croissant". To make it my fault as the customer because I didnt specify almond felt rude and inappropriate. It had been in the oven too long. Plus my table number determined my order. The unpleasant way he spoke was also a factor and he became argumentative. At this point I asked for a refund and left. Upsetting and...

THEY STAYED OPEN FOR US!

I was looking for a special place to take my wife out for coffee. We were hungry. We were thisty. It was late in the afternoon, around 3.20. They were almost closed had packed up. The shop was supposed to close at 3.30. We walked in and were warmly welcomed straight away! The staff there bent over backwards and gave us a meal straight away and told us not to hurry and enjoy ourselves. Soon another person came in asking for coffee And then another, and then another! The place was full! We finished our meal on time, enjoyed the atmosphere, loved the coffee! We don't know what the they finally shut as we headed off but a real credit to the lovely staff at the café. Guess where we will be having coffee again? Our new favourite...
