It's harder and harder to find really quality handmade pies in New Plymouth, but this is the real deal. No mouthful of jelly here. The pies are filled with delicious, savoury stews and big pieces of meat (aside from mince, that is). The cabinet is filled with about sixteen different kinds of pies, from standard favorites like mince & cheese to interesting variations like steak, mushroom and blue cheese, lamb and mint sauce, and mussel seafood chowder. The owner Pip is really dedicated to her work, and it shows. Please support this business- there aren't that many real pie shops left and we need to support the ones that are doing the real work of keeping this part of Kiwi food...
