It's harder and harder to find really quality handmade pies in New Plymouth, but this is the real deal. No mouthful of jelly here. The pies are filled with delicious, savoury stews and big pieces of meat (aside from mince, that is). The cabinet is filled with about sixteen different kinds of pies, from standard favorites like mince & cheese to interesting variations like steak, mushroom and blue cheese, lamb and mint sauce, and mussel seafood chowder. The owner Pip is really dedicated to her work, and it shows. Please support this business- there aren't that many real pie shops left and we need to support the ones that are doing the real work of keeping this part of Kiwi food...

Had arguably the best pie I've ever had from here today, was a portobello steak and blue cheese pie, huge pie with huge bits of steak and whole mushrooms just the right amount of blue cheese to where it doesn't overpower the entire pie, I've had pies from all over nz and tried multiple award winning pies from all over and this pie takes the cake, cant wait to try there Paua pie or there venison pie next, 10$ sounds pretty expensive for a pie but pies are usually 5.70 to 6.50 now days and Id easily have 1 of these pies than 2 from...

Best pies in New Zealand!!! Really pleasant surprise. We visited the Paritutu rock and wanted to get something for the road. We couldn’t start driving until the pies were finished 😆 soooo good!!
