New Plymouth Coastal Walkway — Attraction in North Island

The award-winning Coastal Walkway is a 13.2km path that forms an expansive sea-edge promenade stretching from Pioneer Park at Port Taranaki all the way to the eastern side of Bell Block Beach.

Grade: Easy. The walkway is paved, with some gentle slopes. It is excellent for walking, running, cycling, skateboarding, skating and scooting. Most people would be able to walk 4-6km/hr on the Coastal Walkway.

Unwind and inhale the fresh sea air along the foreshore on this awesome walkway. 12.7 k walk,cycle. run from the port to Rewa Rewa Bridge. On a stormy day you can be exposed to the elements. Along the walk you will always see Mt Taranaki in the background.Where else can you see a majestic mountain with snow whilst walking along the foreshore. Beautiful sights to see along the way like the wind wand and Chaddys Charters. Passing Surf clubs , one with a cafe and a pop up cafe before the surf clubs.
