New Tui Lunch Takeaway — Restaurant in Northland

I ordered a piece of Hoki $3, a piece of Tarakihi $4.50 and a serving of chips $3.50. Cost me $11.00 all up which I thought was reasonably priced. The fish came as 2 packets in a brown paper bag, each containing a piece of fish and chips which was different. to what I am used to. The Asian lady serving was pleasant and was the only person behind the counter, but this was a Sunday. Premises appeared clean, menus well laid out in the overhead selection with prices on display. When I got home with my order, I was quite disappointed. The 2 fish fillets were small in size and dry with a thick coating of batter to make them look bigger. The chips were the crinkle cut "Mr Chips" variety - they too were dry and tasteless. I pulled the fish piece in 2 to cool it down, which is when I noticed the size of the fillet and the thick batter coating. We ate the fish, which was actually fresh and tasty. Omgosh..... I ordered a few different things off their menu. ALL of their food was AMAZING, FRESH, TASTY & YUMMY. I haven't tasted Chinese food like this since I was a kid so blessed 2 have good kai these days. I came right at the end of their service coz I came from whangarei hospital. Highly dissapointed in the quality of Chinese takeaways from this establishment. A hige lack of seasoning in everything I brought. Th noodles had a funny taste and I had to recook them to add Flava and cook through properly, the egg had no seasoning, the pork was dry and the black bean was jus not good.
