102 café and Takeaway — Restaurant in Oraka Aparima Community

We were thrilled to find this cafe/restaurant just about to open for the evening at 5pm when we were forlornly driving through town hungry & tired with it appearing as if the corner dairy was our only choice. When we stepped inside we were even more impressed as the interior is gorgeous. It's very tastefully painted & decorated & therefore extremely pleasing to the eye & sparkling clean. The young lady serving us was super nice & the variety of food was great. My iced coffee was better than most & our food was more than delicious. There is obviously a skilled chef in the kitchen! What a bonus for Riverton having such a marvellous place in the main street. All day breakfast with lunch till 3 then open for dine-in & takeaway from 5pm -8pm. Me and my husband stopped here for lunch yesterday and left very disappointed. Found there was only a small selection to choose from in the cabinet but I ordered the breakfast wrap and was horrified to find that it mainly consistent of what I suspect was left over hot chips from the day before, it was not nice at all, not eatable at all, had only been microwaved as it was quite soggy and not much bacon or egg that I would expect from a breakfast wrap. When I politely bought this to the lady's attention it seemed she just shrugged it of took the plate away without even apologising, having worked as a chef in a cafe previously I found this left a worse taste in my mouth than the wrap did. We called in for lunch on our way home from family Xmas. The cafe was busy, but we found a cosy table for the 6 of us. We ordered at 1ish. 3 of the 6 meals arrived after 40 mins. One of the staff came and asked if we'd received everything! Ah no, still 3 burgers and a smoothie to come. I observered this level of confusion and delay at almost every table. I'm guessing the staff were a bit light for the busy day. After some more delay and confusion the waitress said the kitchen were just cooking our burgers.. appetite almost gone by now.

The burger once received was delicious and the chips were lovely and crunchy.
