Aparima Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Oraka Aparima Community

Over priced small meals, partner and I recently tried chicken burger meal, small bun with lettuce, tomatoes n cheese with a chicken thigh in it, hand full of chips, my partners chicken was a small peice mine chunky at one end and raw which I did take back n response was yuck from person behind bar, then came back out to offer cooking something else, which I declined as partner had pretty much finished his meal, when paying got told we won't charge you for your meal. No sorry just a it's a nice day out comment. Even if was eatable definitely wasn't worth $27! Left hungry and annoyed. Couple weeks before we tried the steak which was nice but small with little chips n wee salad finished it n was still hungry again way over priced nearly $40. Small selection on menu, aparima meals not like they used to be! Definitely won't be back recently moved close to Riverton and have heard similar...

The Ribeye was perfectly cooked, the Chowder was creamy and delicious. Yum yum, my prawns on the steak were delicious. The service was excellent, seated promptly, food delivered speedily. It was a beautiful day and the verandah tables had a spectacular view of the Riverton Pourakino River. There were however elements that let the experience down. I asked that the sauce be served separately, it was not. The large wedges were plentiful but mine were over seasoned so i chose to not eat them. The garlic butter on one Ribeye was way to much. Lastly, a staff member received a reprimand in the kitchen which was overheard 3 tables away (not ok to do this, do it away from customers and other staff members). The restaurant was clean and there was good spacing...

My husband and I love going for morning walks together, followed by a good cup of coffee. Since we’ve tried most of the cafes around Invercargill, we thought we’d do something different and head out to Riverton for a little walk.

That’s when we found Aparima, such a warm, friendly spot that feels perfect whether you’re with family or just the two of you. The food was great, the staff were lovely, and you could really feel a strong, family-like vibe between them. It made the whole place feel super homey and welcoming.

We had the seafood chowder, and it was packed with seafood and full of flavor perfect for a chilly winter day.
