The Crib Cafe is a little bundle of joy in the middle of Riverton. We were welcome with warm smiles and laughter and all of the staff were extremely welcome. It was refreshing to see this continue for every customer who came and left. Food was great and coffee was excellent. Sit in the back corner and you’ll get to meet the resident puppy willow and see all of the amazing local artwork on display. Don’t drive through without stopping in to the crib!!

This place is damn good, I have been here on 3 separate occasions for coffee, breakfast and lunch and every time everything has been on point. They have a good selection of nz craft beers and wines, the coffee is consistantly good which is hard to find and the food was great (I would suggest the chips and gravy). Staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable and you don't feel to cramped for a smaller cafe.

Groovy little cafe in the main street of Riverton. Old school retro vibes! Have visited twice in last 2 weeks and both times my long black has been on point! The owner is one talented barista!! Cafe had been really busy both times and to be honest the staff have been flat out, I'm sure the last few years have been tough so hats off for surviving and still pumping out delish food and the best coffee in Southland.

The two toasted sandwiches we got were delicious (smoked chicken and smoked salmon) and the coffee was really good!

The owner left and then the young staff started talking very loudly about their personal life. It was a bit awkward because for a while we were the only ones in the cafe, and felt like we were intruding on a personal catch up. Once we already had our sandwiches we heard them remembering about the sausage roll we had ordered and putting it in the oven. We slowly ate our food but it never came. We decided it wasn't worth asking for as our toddler would be too slow at eating it by the time she got it, so we just shared our food with her. The girl serving us tried to charge us for the sausage roll. We said we never got it, then she complained that she had reminded her colleague three times about it and rolled her eyes, but didn't offer to get the sausage roll. The sausage roll wasn't a big deal but I feel sorry for the owner as I haven't come across cafe staff before that were so unprofessional in how they talk and immature and it seemed to start once the owner left so she may not know they're like that. Definitely the worst cafe atmosphere we've experienced ever when we were in today. However, we usually love stopping by at the cafe when we're in Riverton and the owner is always super friendly.

Also super appreciated that the owner gave our kid toys to play with before she left.

Ps.. we miss the Cajun fish tacos! They were...

Sometimes in life you experience things in life that one never forgets and dining here was one of those experiences. After calling into The Crib for breakfast, we were first greeted by, " you can't sit there, you'll block my customers from coming". We were sitting in the middle of the room. The abrupt manor in which we were spoken to the entire time we were there was utterly disgusting, the owner was extremely rude and treated us like we were a massive inconvenience. We were not the only ones either. Saying you are tired and overworked, or whatever, there is NO EXCUSE for being rude and to be honest, using offensive behaviour toward your customers. In the hospitality industry, you need to sell your self as well as your products. This woman should not be operating with such an appalling attitude toward people that support her business. Never go there, she is a disgusting example of the human race and an insult to the...

The Crib Cafe is quickly becoming my favorite spot for a delicious meal and a great cup of coffee. The food is always fresh and flavorful, with a nice variety of options to choose from. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or a casual coffee break, the cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect place to relax and unwind. The coffee is rich and well-brewed, consistently hitting the mark every time. Friendly staff and a welcoming vibe complete the experience. If you’re looking for a cafe that serves both great food and excellent coffee, The Crib Cafe is definitely...
